VALLEY SOCIAL CLUB NEWSLETTER FOR SEPTEMBER 2012

Volume 36, Issue 9

THE PRESIDENT SPEAKS !

Greetings to all the Valley Social Club members. I hope that everyone had a great summer. The club had a really fun and active summer. We once again went to Quassy for our summer trip and as always had a really fun time. We all eat too much and had the chance to ride rides and cool off in the water park. I think that this was the first year we didn't get harassed by the bees. We also started up the executive meetings again. We plan to have them on the first Monday of the month. We will also be going to the state wide picnic on the 7th of September and we are planning on going to the Big E with the Shoreline club this month also so keep your eye out for theses dates plus a lot more. Your Pres. Julianne.

FROM THE VICE PRESIDENT

Hi all my fellow club members. I hope all are doing well Last month we were really busy with outside activities. We got to go to breakfast at Cracker Barrel, we Started French lessons with Jacques at the club as well as art classes and some of the girls got to go shoe shopping for free shoes that were donated. We also went to Lake Quassy for our club trip. This month we will be going to the State Wide Picnic and the Big E. hope to see you all at

the club soon. Carol B.

THANKS FOR MAKING OUR LADIES FEEL SO SPECIAL!

The women members of OPTIONS and Valley Social Club were invited to partake in a very special activity. The owner of Shoptique in Branford, CT. did a very generous and thoughtful thing for our women by outfitting them with beautiful sandals. They were given the opportunity to receive these shoes from the owner, Carol. She said she and her staff really feel very happy to be able to help out these ladies. Everyones shoe size was taken and then some amazing sandals were brought out to try. The smiles on everyones face was priceless. Everyone felt so special. The staff really went out of their way to make every woman feel very special. All members were looking pretty incredible after the visit, so thank you Carol for making this possible. Thanks for Kerry Haynes, Supervisor of OPTIONS CLUB and Ralph Despres, Director of Specialty Services for making this possible for everyone!

A NEW STEREO FOR THE CLUB

Thanks to Donna K. and Elaine M. the club will be receiving a brand new stereo for all members to enjoy. How you ask did they do it? Well, they both won a contest at church. Donna did it one time and Elaine did it twice! The rules stated they had to then donate the money to their favorite charity. They both decided that their favorite charity was the Social Club! Great for us, they are donating the stereo from Wal-Mart and they both will go and pick out with the remaining money some bingo prizes for the weekly bingo group. So from all the members thank you so much for being so lucky at winning contests and for thinking about making members so happy for many years to come!
