FASHION INSIGHT
In the globalized era, the apparel and accessory segment in India, like many other traditional products segments, is undergoing an astounding change of perception. While it continues to enjoy the position of being an enhancer of beauty, the new-age consumer perceives fashion as a must, manifesting the wearers attitude, personality and lifestyle. Fashion is now an important new sales driver in India, and domestic and international brands are scrambling to adjust their designs to cater to the Indian market. A host of variables- the buying occasion, the wearing occasion, the economic strata of the target segment and the effect of regional and religious influences on all of them are now being juggled to find the winning mix. With mounting western influence, and a focus on revival of traditional Indian fashion elements, diversity in India sees new faces. The Indian fashion stage is a reflection of deep cultural influences, the consumer shift in the new economic scenario, and changing social perceptions. Fashion in India covers a whole range of clothing from ornate clothes designed for wedding ceremonies to prt lines, sportswear and casual wear. Traditional Indian techniques of embroidery such as chikan, zardosi along with traditional weaves and fabrics have been used by Indian Designers to create Indo-western clothing in a fusion of the east and west, allowing the young urban Indians to choose from the best of both worlds. The global scene across India shows that the fashion adaptation is as diverse as the culture across the country. Indians like to experiment and fuse western wear with Indian designer clothing, adapt western trends and indianized them as per local trends, they look at film celebrities and designers for inspiration. Virtual and real fashion realms coexist, yet challenge each other, making fashion individually accessible and empowering. Sustainability and Ethic are no longer buzzwords, but have emerged as a core business values in the fashion dialogue led by the consumer. This factor makes the Indian market all the more complex to understand and dwell inn. Thats all for nowhopefully since this is our first newsletter it will be well received with the same enthusiasm and eagerness that we get to witness in the sessions and we will continue to evolve and acquire new dimensions making a research a focal point for all the IDT Stakeholders. Students of IDT capture the Audience
girls from Narisarakshan gruh! It feels great to talk to them and do such great programme with them. Rama Bansal( President of Mahila Shakha, Agarwal Vikas Trust)
For the first time when they organizing
team approached I was not sure the idea will work out. But now I can say it's highly appreciated and executed In a great way. The best part of such great idea is that people celebrate Rakhie rituals every year with great fervor at home but for these women organizing and celebrating celebrating such festivals is a great thing. It is our responsibility towards Society so
Government and society should do
such things for the kids. Lastly I would say Keep it up! For such good initiative. We will be associated with you in future too and all the best for your future Endeavour. Darshana Jardosh( Member of parliament)
