The assessment consists of 5000 word written assignment.
Course Aims
The module aims to develop a systematic knowledge and understanding of the ways in which the immune system underpins every facet of health and illness. It also examines the role of the healthcare professional in the management of patients with a disorder of the immune system
Module Content
This module provides a continuation of the topics introduced in Immunology in Health and Illness (7NMH0028). The module content includes advanced anatomy and physiology of the immune system. There is then the opportunity to undertake those of the following optional units that were not completed in the earlier module: allergy and atopy autoimmunity cancer immunology dermatology infectious diseases and vaccinations primary immunodeficiencies secondary immunodeficiencies transplant immunology trauma and critical care wound healing pharmacology and other therapies quality of life issues legal and ethical issues.

A number of Strategic Health Authorities are entering into teaching contracts with Universities for the provision of postgraduate programmes, short courses and study days. In order to access this source of funding, you should contact the senior manager within your Trust who is responsible for the postregistration/CPD allocation.
