Social Sciences None The course is an introductory study and appreciation of the arts. It dwells on the various forms and structures, personal, physical and social functions of art and the role of artists in the society. It also includes basic theories and practices in art production, aesthetics, art criticism, and art history in relation to daily life, culture, careers and other learning areas. After completing the course, the students are expected to: 1. Develop keen understanding, consciousness and appreciation in studying the arts. 2. Develop basic knowledge of the role that the arts play in our culture and how they affect the lives of the people 3. Instill values as inspired by the work of art. 4. Create artworks that will manifest their aesthetic skills through the use of the different mediums. Develop creativeness and artistic abilities upon his experiences of the art. The course will employ various learning approach like lectures/discussions; directed readings; group report; different exposures in the various forms of art through the means of multimedia and ocular visits to some museums and different types of buildings and weekly immersion activities that will place students at the center of all these.
