TEEN USES FACEBOOK TO CONVINCE DISTRICT ATTORNEY TO PROSECUTE Brave Sixteen Year-old Encourages Citizens to Report Sexual Abuse to Monterey County D.A. Monterey, CA Damon, a boy in hiding from his abuser, is using revolutionary new methods in his quest to protect himself and other children. He has recorded an Evidentiary Abuse Affidavit (EAA) along with a video and posted them on Safe Kids Internationals Facebook page. Former FBI director, Louis Freeh, when describing the Penn State cover up, said, I want to remind everyone here, and those watching this press conference, of the need to report child sexual abuse to the authorities. Damon is using Facebook as a forum to get the public to report his abuse to D.A. Dean Flippo of Monterey County, CA, where the abuse first occurred. Damon asserts that the San Diego district attorney and three family court judges have failed to do a proper investigation or protect him. Born out of the Drew and Stacey Peterson case (currently at trial), the EAA was created by violence expert, Susan Murphy Milano, to insure that the victims accounts of previous violence would not disappear if s/he did. It combines videotaping of the victims actual words attesting to the abuse, coupled with creative witnessed and notarized legal documents that successfully satisfy legal hurdles often faced in these cases. Damon contends other abused children should also use the EAA, which is now available as an iPad app. Damon says his father, who sexually abused him for years, has tried to send him to a lock-down facility to be coerced into recanting. Damon says he wants his EAA to be used in case he is sent to a lock-down facility, disappears, or is murdered. Barry Nolan of the Boston Daily wrote an article, In the Wake of Jerry Sandusky, using Damons case as an example of how sexual abuse reports are not taken seriously or investigated properly. One of the recurring themes of the victims testimony was Who would believe a kid? Nolan says, If enough of them come forward and enough of us start to listen, maybe one day one day when the question is asked who would believe a kid? the answer will be different. Damon is hoping the answer will be different for him. Damon hopes that in this post-Sandusky era the public can motivate D.A. Flippo to order a thorough investigation, charge his father with the crime of sexual abuse, and issue a protective order so that he will be able to come out of hiding.
