1GR-FE ENGINE

1. General

A heater has been added to the air injection pump of the models except for Mexico. The operating temperature range of the air injection system has been changed so that this model is compliant with LEVII-ULEV Cold HC.

The 1GR-FE engine is compatible with gasoline/ethanol mixed fuel which contains up to 20% ethanol (E20). Unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 (research octane number 91) or higher can be used on this engine.

2. Engine Control System

Air Injection System

1) General

A heater has been added to the air injection pump.

The operating temperature of the air injection system has been changed from +5 C or higher to –10 C or higher.

2) Construction and Operation

A heater is provided to prevent operation faults in cold conditions.

2TR-FE ENGINE

1. General

A heater has been added to the air injection pump of A/T vehicles.

The 2TR-FE engine is compatible with gasoline/ethanol mixed fuel which contains up to 20% ethanol (E20). Unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 (research octane number 91) or higher can be used on this engine.
