UNIT # This is delicious UNIT AIMS: To describe preferences in food and place to eat NUMBER OF LESSONS IN THIS UNIT: 20 NUMBER OF WEEKLY LESSONS: 5 LESSON # #1: Reading comprehension #2: Common expressions #3: Ordering dialogue #4: Role play #5: true or false statements #6: Etsa and the Iwia Demon #7: finding percentages DATE: April 23rd 2012 LESSON AIMS: #1: to complete reading comprehension exercise #2: to identify and practice using common expressions #3: to show sequence in dialogue order #4: to practice role playing #5: to identify true and false statements #6: to go over new vocabulary " Etsa and the Iwia Demon" #7: to show percentage use in excel ACTIVITIES: RESOURCES: #1:have students say their favorite dish and what are the main ingredients in this dish. -drawing of different food Then have them ask each other if they like the items ingredients described in each ones dish. Then -notebook read out loud the dialogue on pg 52. Have -computer students put the dialogue in order in exercise -student book 6b. -computer CD #2: have students brainstorm polite and -legends of Ecuador book informal ways for saying yes or no to an offer. Then practice the expressions given on pg 53 and have students give example of when to say these expressions in what situations . then complete pg 111 ex. 5 using the expression learned. #3: Looking at the dialogue on pg 52 put key phrases on the board and have the students briefly pt the phrases in order, then with the dialogue on pg 53 do the same exercises putting the phrases in order and practice out loud the dialogue. #4: give the students the situation given for the role play on pg 53 ex 8. Have the students make up a dialogue about what food they have in their lunch boxes and their unsatisfaction

with their food and agreement to switch food with which person. Practice in front of the class. #5: Write different sentences on the board and have the students say what is true or what is false depending on their personal information. Then have tem talk to each other playing BINGO but finding the true statements for students in the classroom. #6: Have students tell what they remember about the story Etsa and the Iwia demon. Then consult the new ocabulary in the dictionary and make sentences with the nw words. #7. Using the Cd have students open the game to find the percentages.

ASSESSMENT: -role play -questions and answers -game completion -classwork in workbook LEARNING OUTCOMES: -students will be able to give a precise view of their preferences in food and dining places NOTES:
