reaping the many benefits of exercise, WM Ige Abe announced the formation of an Intra-Lodge basketball tourney. He also expressed the hope that brethren from other Lodges can join Jose Rizal Lodge or form their own teams for an eventual Inter-Lodge League. Hardly had the announcement hit the waves when brothers started signing up. Within hours after the cyber release of the initiative, over 15 brothers signed up; thus confirming that a lot of brothers are ready to go back to their dunking and lay-up days. Coordinating the initiative is Bro Kristian Francisco who will announce the time and place of practices. So standby for further details. As a piece of information our Bro. Willy Apo, was a professional basketball player in the Philippines who played with the San Miguel Brewery team. He played with such greats as Carlos Loyzaga and Jaworski among others. He now sings with the Grown Up Band, led by brother, Bro. Pete Decena. The Grown Up band regularly visits nursing homes in the Staten Island area and provides cheer and entertainment to the residents as their way of rendering community service.
