Tempe merupakan makanan tradisional dari Indonesia,yang diperkaya dengan protein nabati.

Bahan dasar membuat tempe yaitu kedelai. Sekarang ini tempe telah menyebar keseluruh penjuru dunia. Tahap pertama membuat tempe yaitu menyiapkan kacang kedelai dan ragi tempe.Mencuci bersih kacang kedelai dan direndam selama 24 jam. Setelah 24 jam, diremas-remas kedelai agar kulit arinya lepas. Kedelai dikeringkan dengan menaruh kedelai kedalam panci diatas kompor dan diaduk-aduk jangan sampai hangus. Setelah kacang kering, kacang kedelai dipindahkan ke wadah yang cekung dan dicampurkan dengan ragi tempe secukupnya. Tahap pengemasan, tempe dimasukkan kedalam plastik/daun pisang dan simpan selama 3 hari.
