KCF AGM - 5th August 2012 This document contains details of items discussed at the 2012 AGM.

Election of Committee members The following staff were nominated for roles within the club: Chair : Vice Chair: Secretary: Vice Secretary: Treasurer: Vice Treasurer: Oz Debbie Allan Mayling Henry Jimmy

All nominations were seconded and approved. No other nominations were put forward from the club. Treasurers Report Jimmy spoke about how the club has lost revenue this year through unpaid membership fees and theft of shuttles. Jimmy spoke about how his role has turned into one of a debt-collector. Club fees are not being paid as required from certain members of the club and as a result Jimmy is having to go around and chase people for money. This cant continue to happen. It has also been noticed that certain members of the club are taking shuttles for themselves to use away from the club. This is not acceptable and must stop. Club Fees The cost of shuttles has risen again this year. We are still going to stay with the Chinese shuttles as this will save us over 1000. Despite the rise in shuttle cost we are not looking to increase fees at the moment. Should our financial situation change due to increased court costs etc, then we would have to rethink, but as it stands now things will stay the same. Although we are not increasing the fees, we are changing the payments required and how they are paid. The club signing on fee will be 15. This is required from every member of the club. This fee will pay for your BA of E registration fees. Last season the signing on fee was 35. Page 1 of 4

You will then have two options to pay you membership fee: Option 1 Pay by monthly / quarterly Direct Debit. You can pay 15 per month or 45 per quarter. If you are paying quarterly you have to make your payment in advance (ie at the beginning of the 1st month and not at the end). Option 2 Pay 45 quarterly by cash / cheque in advance. You will need to ensure you pay at the beginning of the 1st month and not at the end of the 3 months. These options have been implemented to make the job of collecting fees much easier for treasurer. It will also make sure that the club has the funds required in the bank to cover court costs and shuttle costs. Please be aware that you WILL NOT be eligible for team selection or be able to play in the club unless you are up to date with your club fees. Remember your clubs fees entitle you to play both on a Sunday and on a Thursday. There are also no match fees to pay should be selected to play in one of the teams. I think most of you would agree, the fees are extremely good value. Secretary Report League Information. The Liverpool League will be sending monthly newsletters to all registered club players via email. We will need to provide the league with a list of our members email addresses. Can you please provide us with your email address. You can do this by informing the club secretary / vice secretary, posting your email on the KCF Facebook page or by emailing Debbie Anacoura via Debbie.Anacoura@riverside.org.uk We have entered 3 teams into the league this season. Unfortunately we just dont have enough ladies in the club to be able to enter a 4th team. It is disappointing as we have more than enough men to enter a 4th team. All team league matches will be played at Holly Lodge on a Sunday. Kensington club night on a Thursday will continue as normal. It was mentioned that this session could be used for team training or coaching and also the possibility of generating additional club income by holding Sanster Cup games there. Page 2 of 4

The league scoring system is changing back next season to the way it was the previous season. Basically you get a point for every game you win. So if you win a match 5 3, you will get 5 points. If you lose a match 6 2, you will get 2 points. Team Selection You will not be eligible to play in a league team unless you are up to date with your club fees. The selection committee will be made up of all existing committee roles plus the team captains for last season. It was also suggested to the club that if anyone in the club would like to be involved in this process they should they let us know. Each member of the selection committee will receive a list of club players who are up to date with their fees AND would like to be considered for team selection. Each member of the selection committee will then list who they think should be in each team based on order of strength. Once all selection committee members have completed their ranking, all forms will be submitted back to Debbie and she will collate the information. A selection committee meeting will then be arranged to discuss the results. Once teams are agreed the information will be released to the club. We hope to have this process completed by mid August. Shuttle usage There is a very large amount of shuttles being used on club nights. The club cannot continue to support these levels. Please ensure that when you are knocking up you DO NOT use a new shuttle. A new shuttle should only be taken when you really need one and not for every new game you play. If we continue to use the amount of shuttles we are in club then we will have to look at increasing club fees. Board Etiquette Can all club members please ensure the board is being used correctly. When you arrive you need to make sure you peg is placed on the board. You should not start playing until this is done. Games should be picked via the board based on the players queuing to play. If its your turn to pick a game you should be selecting the game from the next 7 players in the queue. You should not by pass the queuing system. Games should be picked fairly and not be based on who you want to play with.

We encourage all club players to make new members feel welcome by selecting them for games. Once your game is finished you should come off court and move your pegs back into the waiting queue. You should not decide to change ends and continue to play your game again. Captains Reports The 1st team came 5th in Division 1 with 11 points. They had 5 wins, 1 draw and 6 losses. They were beaten in Quarter-Finals of the Sangster cup by KCFs 2nd team. Not a bad season considering they had problems with player availability. A big thank you to the members of KCF2 and KCF3 who stepped up to play on many occasion. Every member of the 2nd team played up at least twice and some of the 3rd team did too. The 2nd team has a really successful season and were narrowly pipped at the post to the 2nd division league title by South Liverpool 1. Both teams finished on the same points so it couldnt have been closer. They continued their success in the Sangster Cup and reached the final only to lose to Fords 4 on points. The score was 8 - 8 but ended up losing by 14 points. Brilliant season for the second team. The 3rd team finished 6th in league 2 with 7 points. They had 3 wins, 1 draw and 8 losses. They were beaten in Quarter-Finals of the Sangster cup by Apollo 1. The 4th team finished 6th in league 3 with 8 points. They had 4 wins and 8 losses.
