Course Description : This course introduces the origins and historical development of art. Emphasis is placed on the relationship of design principles to various art forms, including but not limited to, sculpture, painting, and architecture. In addition, the course leads to assessment of the global awareness and general education. Western Art will be tackled in 2 terms while the Oriental Art together with and in emphasize to the Philippine Art will be delivered in the remaining term. Visits to various museums and art exhibits are proposed to be the culminating activities of this course. Course Objectives :At the end of the course, the students should be able to:
A. Cognitive : Gain an understanding of how the elements and principles of art are used in a work of art Gain an appreciation of why mankind creates and needs art. Identify and Classify Western and Asian Arts B. Affective:Instill and integrate a sense of respect and appreciation to the works of art. Judge the value of the different works of art. C. Psychomotor: Demonstrate their learning in a classroom supervised activities and commitment towards expected subjects of art
