INSTALLATION NOTES
Alarm Unit: l Mount the alarm unit with the screws provided in a suitable position in the passenger compartment. l The active range of the radio key transmitter is approximately 3 metres but may vary depending on the type of vehicle and prevailing weather conditions. l Mount the Emergency Touch Override Receptacle in a location that is accessible. This may be in a switch blank, dashboard, glove box etc. l Mount the ultrasonic transmitter and receiver units inside the vehicle and position them to scan the maximum internal area of the vehicle. They should not be positioned near air vents. The top of each A' pillar is the normal position for the ultrasonic transmitter and receiver units, being careful that they are not fouled by the sun visors.

CENTRAL DOOR LOCKING COMMANDS Confirm the type of door locking system the vehicle has and connect using the appropriate application. 1. Single Point Locking System: For vehicles fitted with a single point locking system (central door locking system can only be operated from the drivers door). Fit the door motor and connect as shown in diagram 8. Connect the Violet/Orange to a positive supply via a fuse holder and 7.5 Amp fuse. The alarm is preset for a 1 second output on the Violet & Orange wires (Lock/Unlock). 2. Negative Command Door Locking System: For vehicles fitted with a negative command central door locking system connect as shown in diagram 9. The alarm is preset for a 1 second output on the Violet & Orange wires (Lock/Unlock). 3. Positive Command Door Locking System: For vehicles fitted with a positive command central door locking system connect as shown in diagram 11. Connect the Violet/Orange to a positive supply via a fuse holder and 7.5 Amp fuse. 4. Direct Motor Control: For vehicles which require the alarm to directly power the existing door motor wire to operate the central door locking system, connect as shown in diagram 10. For this to operate correctly the door motor wires must be negative while the motor is in the rest position.

FUNCTION The H.R.M. emits a microwave signal which forms a detection envelope within which any movement will result in an alarm trigger. It is only active when the alarm is armed and takes at least 15 seconds to stabilise and become active from arming. They are designed to be concealed behind plastic or fabric trim, which do not affect microwave emissions. INSTALLATION Before mounting the H.R.M. it is essential to establish the optimum location. This is normally in the centre console, horizontally in between the back of the front seats, for 4 seater vehicles. Diagram 13 In 2 seater vehicles the H.R.M. is best located at the front of the centre console facing back at an angle of 45 degrees. To do this, leave the H.R.M. until the rest of the installation is complete, then: 1. Connect up the H.R.M. 2. Place the H.R.M. in your preferred location and go through the set-up procedure. Note A: The microwave detection envelope is transmitted from the adjuster side of the H.R.M. Note B: Microwave transmissions are blocked by metal, so console brackets, radios, seat frames etc. will affect the performance of the H.R.M. The use of the vehicle must be taken into account, i.e. if the H.R.M. is mounted beneath a coin tray, the detection envelope will be completely changed if the tray is subsequently filled with coins. It is, therefore, essential that the H.R.M. is not mounted behind any area which could possibly be covered by metal objects in the normal use of the vehicle. 3. It may be necessary to move the H.R.M. or incline it to achieve desired coverage. Note C: Two or more H.R.M.'s may be required to cover larger vehicles. 4. Mount in the optimum location using the bracket provided. 5. If badly adjusted/positioned the H.R.M. may trigger from outside the confines of the vehicle. Always check for stray radiation through the windows and sunroof.

INSTALLATION NOTES
Note (1) - If additional cable is required, use only cable of the same or greater current handling capacity. Note (2) - Ensure that all connections are electrically sound and made through a suitable connector and protected from water ingress. Poor connections may cause erratic operation of the alarm system. Note (3) - Take care to route cables away from the exhaust, cooling systems and any moving parts. Secure the alarm's harness to original vehicle's harness or to a good fixing point of the vehicle. Note (4) - All alarm wiring should be lapped using tape of similar appearance to the original vehicle. Extra tape may be added to the vehicle's original harness to give similar appearance. Note (5) - The alarm circuit board includes special circuit breakers which protect the main circuit board and the indicators from attack by shorting. The 15 Amp fuse in the alarm harness's power supply (Red wire) is to protect the harness from shorting due to poor installation. It is recommended that the fuse holder and fuse is installed. Note (7) - Cable tie the ultrasonic and glass break cables to the main alarm harness siren each side of the 2-way connectors to ensure they cannot be accidentally disconnected.

STATUS HISTORY - DIAGNOSTIC READ OUT

If the alarm has triggered in your absence you will be notified by the indicators flashing 4 times when the alarm is disarmed. The status history will then be displayed by a sequence of flashes from the alarm's LED. This will indicate the following: 1 Flash 2 Flashes 3 Flashes 4 Flashes 5 Flashes 6 Flashes 7 Flashes 8 Flashes Door, boot or bonnet opened Optional microwave sensor trigger Ultrasonic sensor trigger or glass break trigger Ignition sense - Ignition turned on while alarm armed Voltage drop sensor triggered Tamper mode Serial line data link Serial line data link

MULTIPLE TRIGGERS The alarm will also display multiple triggers, therefore if the door is opened and the ultrasonic then detects movement inside the vehicle the LED will display 2 flashes followed by 3 flashes. CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC MEMORY - STATUS HISTORY Turning the ignition On' or arming the alarm system will clear the Status History.

REMOTE KEY AND TOUCH KEY PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE Note: i All Remote keys or Touch keys required to operate the alarm system must all be programmed at the same time. This includes all existing Remote/Touch keys as well as new keys. Any Remote/Touch keys not reprogrammed at this point will not operate the alarm system. You will require the unique Pin code number from the customer for this procedure. If the number has been misplaced it can be obtained by faxing the Alarm Technical Help Line quoting the model number of the alarm and the alarms serial number which can be found on a white label under the alarm harness cover on back of the alarm. A maximum of four Remote keys and four Touch keys can be programmed into the alarm system. If only Remote keys require programming it is not necessary to re-code the Touch keys at this time and vice versa.

Remote Key Preparation: This procedure is not required to program Touch keys. A1 Press both buttons on the remote control until the LED on the Remote key stops flashing (approximately 10 seconds). On releasing the buttons the LED on the Remote key will illuminate. A2 Repeat procedure A1 for ALL Remote keys required to operate the alarm system. This includes existing and new Remote keys. Entering Pin Number: Each alarm system has a unique Pin Code number which can be found on the card in the alarm box. This Card must be given to the customer on delivery of the vehicle. B1 Turn the Ignition ON and OFF 3 times within 7 seconds. The LED will Illuminate for approx. 3 seconds. B2 Immediately the LED extinguishes, switch the Ignition ON. B3 Count the number of flashes until this is equal to the 1st number of your Pin code (i.e. 2 flashes = No. 2, 4 flashes = No.4) then turn the Ignition OFF and back ON. B4 Repeat procedure B3 for the following 3 digits of your Pin Code remembering to turn the Ignition OFF and back ON after each Code number. B5 With the Ignition in the On position, push an existing Touch key into its receptacle. IF Pin Number is correct the LED will illuminate. Note: If at any time you fail while entering your Pin Code. Turn the ignition OFF for 10 seconds and start again.
