(Spot) Translating Translator A translator translates the dialogue in a video and the captions if necessary.

B efore you translate, you should note that we have a few abbreviations for so-cal led "actors". These actors are an easy way to let others know who says which lin e. This is almost a necessity for timers because then timers would know to time which line to which person, and to see if there are any missing lines. The list of abbreviations are: Quote SG = SungGyu DW = DongWoo WH = WooHyun HW = HoWon (HoYa) SY = SungYeol MS = MyungSoo (L) SJ = SungJong ALL = All members of Infinite, or when multiple people are talking Cap = Caption T/N = Translator's note PD = Producer If there are any other speakers in the video, write their abbreviations in 3 cha racters: Quote Kang Ho Dong = KHD Yoo Jae Suk = YJS Yoo Eun Hye = YEH If someone's name is pronounced in a dialogue, make sure to put it as 1 word but with a capital letter for the second character of the name, i.e. SungGyu, DongW oo, WooHyun. Captions shouldn't be translated if the dialogue and the caption are the same, i .e. if SungGyu says ????? and the caption also says ?????, it is not needed to p ut a caption line. If you feel that something might be hard to understand due to the culture or the geographical meaning, please add a translator's note like this: Quote T/N: Seoul is the capital city of South Korea. Please write (ST NEEDED) for all lines that you are unable to translate. This wi ll make the job of the spot translator easier. Put all your translations into Notepad. Make sure there are no spaces between ea ch line. This will make timing easier. An example: Quote SG: Hi everyone! Cap: The Best New Rookie SG: We are Infinite! After you are done, please upload your file to MediaFire and send it to the assi gned timer, as well as posting it in the respective thread. Spot Translator A spot translator will take the translations and edit the grammar and spelling a nd make it understandable. The main job of a spot translator is to translate the lines that the translator couldn't translate by looking for (ST NEEDED) with Ct

rl + F. A spot translator should only spot translate after the timer has done his/her pa rt. A spot translator should watch that part of the video with the timed transla tions to fill in missing dialogues and captions. If you are still in doubt of ho w to translate, please ask other translators for help by means of making a scree n cap for captions or giving a YouTube or Tudou link with the time for dialogues . Post it afterwards in the respective thread that you need help with the transl ations. If you're done with spot translations, send the file back to the same timer you got the file from. That timer should know what lines there are left to time. Quote
