Standard Operating Procedure ( SOP ) 3 x 625 Kva, 415V, 50 Hz Diesel Generator Sets with Auto Synchronizing Auto Load

Sharing Panel.

DG set :

check Coolant Level in Radiator check Lub. Oil Level in Sump check Diesel Level in Day tank check Battery connections

Synchronizing Panel :

check for any Alarm on Controller. ( reset the Alarm if any after rectification ) keep the controller Easygen-2500 in either Auto or Manual Mode ( Press AUTO or MAN pushbutton, Graphic text message is displayed )

Control Philosophy : ( AUTO Mode )

On Mains ( Electricity Board ) supply failure ( total failure / low voltage / high voltage ), Master DG ( DG-1) will starts automatically & closes its neutral contactor & then its breaker, common bus will be energized. . All 2 outgoing Breaker will close either at a time or with time delay provided Actuator switches ( ACK-2 & ACK-3) to be kept in Auto mode. If load on DG-1 increases beyond the set value, DG-2 will start automatically & get Synchronized with DG-1 & will close the breaker of second DG. Similarly, if load on common bus increases beyond the set value, DG-3 will start automatically & get Synchronized with common bus ( i.e DG-1 & DG-2) & will close the breaker of Third DG. All 3 DG sets now will take Load current. Load will be shared equally by 3 DG sets. If total load reduces, depending on requirement, one by one DG incoming breaker will Open and respective DG will stop automatically. Similarly, if load increases again, depending on requirement, one by one DG will start, respective DG incoming breaker will Close automatically. The above procedure means that, initially Panel will function as LOAD DEPENDENT START STOP .

Control Philosophy : ( MAN Mode )

Press the Start pushbutton on Easygen2500 ( Any Healthy DG ) in pressed condition till the voltage builds up, and frequency reaches 1500rpm. Press GCB ON pushbutton ( single push only ) to close DG incoming breaker. ( DG incoming breaker will close instantly if no other DG is powered at that time, otherwise DG breaker will automatically close after synchronizing with running DG set ) To close the outgoing Breaker Actuator switches ( ACK-2 & ACK-3) to be kept in Manual mode & Spring return actuator switches ( ACK-4 & ACK-5) to be turned towards close indication & released. Depending on requirement, All 3 DG sets can be started with above procedure. Load to be put sequencially. Load will be shared equally by all the running DG sets. To stop DG sets, pl ensure all the load are withdrawn. Press Stop pushbutton on Easygen2500 ( single push only ). DG incoming breaker will Open. DG will go for Cool down mode. After completion of Cool down period, DG will stop automatically. With above method, all 3 DG sets can be stop one by one.

Check the following periodically :

any leakages for Coolant, Lub oil or Diesel any abnormal sound, when DG is in running condition loose connections / loose wire in panel all the parameters to be monitored in every 1 hour
