Transmission Line Analyzer System

Taurus Accumax-3 Transmission Line Analyzer system is very unique and one of its kind product which is manufactured only by us globally. Accumax-3 is portable equipment which is bundled with 4 units; Fault Locator Unit, Signature Analyser Unit, Adaptor Unit, Simulator Unit. In addition to this it is bundled with a laptop, a printer & software (Taurus Data Management Software).

This is a portable kit to be connected to the EHT Transmission lines (Offline) to ascertain the healthiness of the Line ECG of the Transmission Line Transmitter sends the coded pulse on Transmission Line Receiver collects data Direct digital distance display User friendly software analyses healthiness

Fault Locator Part features Identifies all types open & short circuit faults in a transmission lines from 66 kV to 1250kV Distance of the fault is directly displayed in LCD in (km) Accuracy of 100mts in a line distance upto 1000km All categories of faults are located Open circuit, Phase to Earth, Phase to Phase 3 phase faults 3 phase to ground fault High resistance faults like decapping, tree growth, encroachment, Fully automatic system Locates faults on spur lines from the base location itself Optimum safety & completely suppresses all induction voltage, stray surges, lightning impact etc. Signature Analyser Part Features Transmission line component Study Identifies transient & permanent fault Line healthiness study is made for every 100m for all the 3 phases In-homogeneities are automatically represented in: Distance to the fault in kilometers Intensity of the fault Open & Short The line data is displayed graphically in LCD display Real-time data transfer to PC using TADMA Software Printout of line data in all gains can be taken using printer Adaptor Features Induction suppression from parallel feeders & nearby charged environment Auto matching to all EHT lines from 66 kV to 1250 kV Noise interference from near by HVDC stations and other sources are completely taken care of Housed in rugged, unbreakable IP67 pelican case.

Simulator Features Designed to test the functional aspects of the Fault Analyzer System Provide training for the operational staff. Principle of Operation Works on the principle of Multiple Pulse Echo Co-relation Technique The coded pulse signal is injected on the de-energized line The reflection of the wave from the line is analyzed and length of the line, fault distance, inhomogeneities of the line are finalized In-homogeneities of the line is recorded in six gains Each gain processed data is recorded after scanning the line for nine times

Signature Analyzer Applications: Determining the line healthiness (Decision Making) Due to transient external influences (transient fault) the line may trip and the decision can be taken to charge the line without patrolling Identifying high resistance inhomogeneities Identifying high resistance inhomogeneities including decapping fault Identifying low resistance faults Open circuit, Phase to Earth, Phase to Phase, 2 phase to earth, 3 phase faults, 3 phase to ground fault Pre-charging certification that a line is safe to charge Whether a fault is fully rectified / discharge rods are removed after fault rectification Whether a secondary fault is still persisting Pre-commissioning tests: Line Length documentation: Whether the line is laid to its full length Phase sequence test: Whether testing end R,Y & B sequence corresponds to terminal end also Circuit Verification Test: In case of multi circuit lines, the corresponding circuits on both side can be verified Continuity Test: Whether the line is continuous till the end

Results Fault locator shows direct display of fault point Signature Analyser gives report in two forms; Graphical format and Excel report.

Graphical format result This below graph indicates the graphical picture of the 400kV Transmission Line. Indications:

This graph indicates that there is decapping fault (short fault) at 69KM from the substation. Decapping fault refers to low hanging conductor short fault.
