Winnipeg Sun - Great Grocery Giveaway

Dates: The contest, Great Grocery Giveaway starts July 9, 2012 and ends, August 12, 2012 Prizes: Sobeys gift cards valued at $1,000 will be available to be won each week. All Prizes must be taken as awarded; Winners must be at least 18 years of age and older. All winners must agree in writing that all sponsors of this contest have the right to photograph and publish pictures and names of the winners for marketing purposes. Any costs or expenses incurred by the winners in claiming or using their prizes, except as expressly stated, are the responsibility of the winners. How to Participate: A weeklu prize valued at $1,000 in Sobeys Gift Cards will be awarded based on the following weeks: July 9-15, July 16-22, July 23-29, July 30-August 5, August 6-12, all in 2012. From July 9, 2012 through August 12, 2012, a seven-digit number will appear in a designated place on PAGE 2 of the paper. Each paper will have its own separate and unique number. On the day thereafter, ten randomly selected numbers will be chosen and printed from the sequential unique numbers which ran on the previous days paper. These numbers will appear on the daily game sheet published inside the Winnipeg Sun. Unique numbers printed on page 2 can only be used for the following days chosen numbers. MATCH YOUR NUMBER TO QUALIFY! If you have a matching number you must call the Winnipeg Sun contest line at (204) 632-2603 by NO LATER than 5:00 PM the day the winning number is published to inform the Sun of your qualifying number and to provide contact information. By matching your number, you then qualify for the weekly draw. All qualifying contestants will be placed into a draw for the prize to be won for that week. In all cases, winners MUST PRESENT original physical verification of the matching number from page 2 of the paper as proof of their qualification before any prize will be awarded. In other words, please remember to save page 2 of the paper containing your matching number! No exceptions will be made. Without the original page 2 of your matching number, qualification is void and the prize will not be awarded. Should a person possess a matching number, the persons name, phone number and qualifying number must be left with the contest line. Should your call to the contest line be directed to a message machine, leave your full name, address, phone number, and qualifying number. All calls are time stamped; messages with qualifying numbers recorded before 5:00 PM the day the qualifying numbers are published will be honored as qualifiers. Messages left AFTER 5:00 PM that day will not be accepted, even if the number left is a qualifying number. Please speak clearly when leaving a message. Unintelligible or incomplete messages will not be honored as qualifiers. People with qualifying numbers that do not win in the draw, are not carried forth to the following week. If for any reason the number fails to be printed on page 2 of the paper, or is printed illegibly, the Winnipeg Sun shall give no replacement. In addition, should the numbers that are to be drawn and published for the following day fail to appear within the pages of the paper, the numbers will be included in the following days paper. Only home delivery and single copy sold copies will have unique numbers. Bulk copies that are available at locations for free reading will not have contest numbers printed. NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER. It is possible for anyone who would like to participate without charge in the contest to obtain an edition of the Winnipeg Sun for free upon written request addressed to: Great Grocery Giveaway contest, Winnipeg Sun, c/o Fun and Games Department, 1700 Church Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R2X 3A2 with a limit of one request per person per week during the promotion. The reader must provide a self-addressed and stamped envelope and the paper will be mailed the day the request is received via Canada Post. No provisions can be made with regard to the speed of delivery. To be declared a winner for any prize, all potential winners must correctly answer an arithmetical, time-limited, skill-testing question without assistance. Once a person has been declared a winner during a given week, he/she is not eligible to qualify again for the remainder of the contest. Remittance of Prizes: All winners will be required to sign a declaration confirming: 1. Eligibility and compliance with each of these Official Rules and a release form confirming acceptance of the prize as awarded and releasing the contest sponsor, Sun Media Corporation (Sponsor), and their respective affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents, (Suppliers) from any damages or liability relating to the contest or the prize. This includes Sobeys and Sobeys employees 2. Agreement to have both their name and photo taken and printed for publicity purposes without compensation, worldwide in perpetuity, and in any form of media, including the internet, by any of the Sponsor or the Suppliers.

GENERAL RULES APPLICABLE FOR ALL WINNIPEG SUN CONTESTS: 1. By entering this contest, qualifiers consent to the use of their names and/or photographs for publicity purposes without compensation, worldwide in perpetuity, and in any form of media including the Internet by any of the Sponsor or the Suppliers. 2. Prizes are non transferable and must be accepted as awarded; no cash substitutes are available for any prizes. 3. Only entries from those who have NOT won a major prize from Winnipeg Sun Promotions in the previous three months will be accepted. 4. The Sponsor and the Suppliers reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if any stated prize becomes unavailable. 5. Only residents of Manitoba who have reached the age of 18 years old are eligible to enter the contest. Employee(s) of the Sponsor and the Suppliers and their respective franchisees, dealers, carriers, agents, contractors, affiliated corporations, businesses and advertising and promotional agencies and the immediate families of such employees and persons with whom such employees are domiciled, are not eligible to enter this contest. 6. Neither the Sponsor nor the Suppliers are responsible for commencing, continuing, or completing the contest in the event of circumstances beyond their control. The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify the contest if, in its sole discretion, it determines that the contest is not capable of being run as originally planned for any reason (such as tampering, fraud, technical failures, printing or distribution errors, or any other causes or occurrences have compromised the fairness or integrity of the contest). 7. Neither the Sponsor nor the Suppliers are liable for any loss, property damage, or damage to any person, including without limitation, death and injury due, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from or arising out of participation in this contest, or participation in any contest related activity, or the receipt, use, or misuse of a prize. With respect to any merchandise prize, neither the Sponsors nor the Suppliers shall (subject to any express, written manufacturers or distributors product warranty which applies to any merchandise prize) be in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or law, relative to any prize, including but not limited to its quality, mechanical condition, or fitness. All references to times and dates reflect Central Time and are subject to change. 8. Decisions of the Contest Officials are final in all cases. The Winnipeg Sun reserves the right to amend these Official Rules when the Winnipeg Sun deems necessary. Neither the Sponsor nor the Suppliers are responsible for any typographical, production or distribution errors that may occur during the contest or in any contest material. Entries that are late, incomplete, or unintelligible are not eligible to win. Entries that are obtained through illegitimate channels are void. Neither the Sponsor nor the Suppliers are responsible for (i) late, lost, delayed, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, or stolen postage due or unintelligible entries; or (ii) failure to receive entries due to transmission failures or technical failures of any kind. 9. By entering this contest, qualifiers acknowledge these Official Rules and agree to abide by them. 11. This contest is subject to the laws of Manitoba and the federal laws of Canada as applicable. 12. All entries become the property of the Winnipeg Sun. No entries will be returned. All entries will be destroyed following the contest. 13. No correspondence will be entered into with the entrants. 14. The odds of qualifying to compete for the major prize will depend upon the number of papers printed over the course of the weekand the number of contestants playing.
