Paul Pschirer THEO201_ D01_LUO Short Essay # 4

Oh, Anna
Oh, my friend Anna, how we get so mislead in life. Its so funny that so many TV shows portray this God vs. Devil idea as an idea that good and evil has always existed and this battle shall continue on for eternity. Its even funnier when we can look into the Bible and see who is superior to whom, and who belongs to whom. The major problem is this; Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. (Mat 22:29 King James Bible) You see Anna, God and Satan are not in some kind of cosmic duel for all eternity, when we go to scriptures instead of television (which ought to be where we get our information about God) then we will come to appreciate the truth. God, the Creator of all things did create Lucifer a.k.a Satan. Now if God created Lucifer, and all things that God created was in His sight good, and then the proverbial question comes to light, did God create sin? While examining the Word of God more intimately we see that Lucifer was an angel, an eternal being, beautifully made, and given charge over a certain part of Heaven and a host of other angels. While being a wonderfully beautiful created being, God gave him and all the angels a free will, unfortunately for Lucifer he decided in his pride to lift himself up and we read in the Bible as saying For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. (Isa 14:13 14, KJB) Satan decided he wanted the throne and worship from creation of El Elyon, the Most High God. As we continue to look at the silliness of TV we can see that they portray life with essentially two Gods both equal, but it is disproved in the word of God because it shows us that God, El Elyon, being Most High, Creator, Sustainer, and Judge of all is infinite, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent, however Satan being the creature

cannot share the same attributes as the Creator. Since it was by God that all things exist Col 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: we can show the limitations of Satan and all those that would follow. The Bible is absolutely pure in describing that it was Lucifer in his pride, which became the original sin that corrupted him and sentenced him to hell along with those angels that followed him. In so many words Anna, God never intended man to go to hell it was a place prepared for the devil and his angels. (Matthew 24:41, KJB) In asking the question how do we know that it was Satan that originally created sin, we can turn to Ezekiel Chapter 28, which describes Satan so marvelously. Here we have the record of the anointed cherub (Lucifer was a Cherub), who was in the garden Eden (Lucifer was in the garden), and described in Ezekiel 28:15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. You see everything was perfect before Satan rebelled against God, thereby sealing his judgment upon himself and those that followed. Because God is a Righteous and Holy God, and iniquity cannot be in His presence, He determined according to Ezekiel 28:16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. God ultimately will have the victory over sin, and Satan, only because it is by God that Satan even has this little period of time to deceive the nations and exist. Though Anna it may seem as if there is this great battle building up, it will be only for a period of time, for as the Lord reigns, He will deliver the just and deserved punishment to Satan and all those that follow him, whether they be angels, or unregenerate men that devise evil against God.

The battle therefore is laid out before us as in the flesh that is if we deny our sinfulness and refuse to call upon Jesus Christ to save us. So many people today portray sin as the devil made me/tempted me to do it. The devil, Satan can only present before us a choice; he cannot make us do anything. In our wickedness we choose to sin James 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Anna, it was by Lucifers own volition (free will) that he rose up in pride against God and all that He is, and it is by our volition (free will) that we either decide worship God or to admit that we are a sinner, separated from a Holy God, having figured out this present world and become Christ deniers, which in the latter would condemn us to hell. When we understand that it is by grace through faith that He saved us, not of works lest any man should boast, (Ephesians 2:8 -10, KJB) then and only then will we begin to understand that there is not an eternal good and evil battle, but a short period of time for us to recognize our sinfulness before God and cry out for our salvation. When God in His timetable begins to unleash His wrath upon sin and the world then it will be too late. For the Bible says as the days become more and more evil because of Satans influence, and it seems that there is this huge battle that has been raging for eons then just know this: And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. (Luke 21:28, KJB)
