Students should enroll and pay tuition early in the semester in which they will complete the last PDE. The college credit will count as an early childhood elective. All Child Start PDEs are assigned a level according to the Core Competencies for Early Care and Education Professionals. Level three indicates college-level instruction.
ELIGIBLE FOR COLLEGE CREDIT! PCAN-M3: Social Emotional Development for Infants, Toddlers & Twos
Participants will receive an overview of social-emotional development for infants and toddlers and will rationalize the importance of positive relationships with primary caregivers. They will be able to describe the characteristics among social-emotional development, physical development, and cognitive development. Know the three strategies that promote and support social-emotional development for home and in early education settings, and list three strategies that promote and support relationships with parents.
