Milan, 27-28 October 2012 Second edition of the Nomad Festival

The Gipsy Route does not stop, and after the success of the first Nomad Dance Fest 2011 its ready the second edition on 27-28 October 2012. The festival will have a unique stage of a cultures, musics and dances from the Gypsy route: the journey that started 600 years ago from India, from the desert of Thar, crossing Persia, Turkey, Egypt, Morocco, the Balkans to the Mediterranean and parts of southern Italy arriving in Andalucia. The Nomad Fest aims to rediscover and revive traditions and cultures of nomadic peoples and the common roots of folk dances. A project born from the heart and the experience of Maya Devi, founder and artistic director of the Festival, dancer and teacher of yoga and spiritual practice, researcher of Eastern cultures, founder of the school of dance and yoga Mudrarte of Milan, a member of ' International Dance Council CID UNESCO, and the only teacher Gipsy Dances of Rajasthan and Kalbeliya in Italy declaring: "The cultural heritage is manifested in the union of the various forms of artistic expression of each country and that's what we want to know," said Maya Devi . The Festival renewed the appointment in Milan after the great success in 2011 when over 1550 people were involved in this weekend. An event that was followed with passion and interest from the press and many TV and radio (among them a service to TG3 and TG2 Dossier, radios: Radio Lombardia, Radio Popolare with the live trasmission at the Festival. This year the central theme of the Festival is the "GIPSY

CARAVAN" modern nomads who travel the old way through the cities and deserts collecting "pieces" of the cultures of migrant peoples tell stories and traditions of men and women who dance their lives and transform it into art. This edition Nomad Fest will have many distinguished guests and enrichment of content and space. Among the protagonists of the next edition: RANA GORGANI from Iran with dances of the Silk Road, Gulabo Sapera, the greatest Rajasthani dancer in the world with her Kalbeliya group from Rajasthan, the band Indialucia with their sounds from India to Spain, The Italian group Almoraima with their new ArabicAndalusian CD, the famous Flamenco bailaora RAFAELA CARRASCO will be among the artists of international festival.From the desert of Timbuktu the Touareg will arrive and will delight us with their music rhythm. Guests of the Festival which will represent the Eastern dance: RAFFAELLA CIPOLATO with the "oriental dance with Saber, MARIA STROVA with "The veil in the oriental-Andalusian dance " who will present his latest book "SALOME", LUCIA ZAHARA with Turkish Gypsy Dances and JAMILA ZAKI Zagharid in oriental Baladi "the true dance of Egyptian women." Alessandra Centonze, Malika Fehrat for METISS'ART, in collaboration with the festival, will coordinate the AREA of the Middle East with several proposals from dance, art, music and method GYPSY DUENDE created by MIRIAM SZABO (Yumma Mudra). Will lead a workshop of Berber dances and will perform accompanied by the group KIKI ENSEMBLE. This year's NOMAD DANCE FEST will be supported by Syusy Blady NOMADIZZIAMOCI.The great artist will present the NOMAD GALA SHOW on Saturday evening and will be present throughout the event presenting nomad travels and her latest book. The exhibition area will be even bigger with 900 square meters of space that will host, besides the various exhibitors divided into subject areas for each country of the "gypsy Route", the Nomad Bazaar, Performance of dance and music workshops, a new section dedicated to India where it all originated with a particular attention to yoga and dance, with the collaboration of Yoga Festival, Incredible India (India Tourism Milan) and Consulate general of India in Italy. Colors and temptations in ETICHIC FASHION full of clothes, accessories, items for an original and ethical shopping, a new space dedicated to well-being through the services of operators of Ayurvedic massage, holistic and beauty salon, with mehndi, make Natural-up and hair styling.

The BOOKSTORE by TERRE DI MEZZO and the exhibition of Indian films in collaboration with River to River Florence Indian Film-Festival. The area dedicated to Spain in collaboration will host the Tablao Flamenco with performances of Flamenco, Sevillanas, Sangria y Tapas. This year the space "Ethnic Teteria" managed by Mudra Natural Caf and Tekelt will have more space where to serve tea, coffee natural food and ethnic diahes. For the second edition the GALA SHOW "GIPSY ROUTES" will be on Saturday night to host national and international artists who will play the gypsy traditions so pure and merging with other culture.On Sunday evening you are all invited to dance at the "GIPSY PARTY" with DJ sets and groups of Balkan music and rhythms of South Italy to dance all together! From first to the second edition of the Nomad Fest cultural continuity and a seamless path of events throughout the year: February and March 2012 there was a magical journey to India in Rajasthan, between sounds and colors with an exclusive evening in FORT Pachewar Jaipur, with the artists of Rajasthan and SUVA DEVI and dance company of Maya Devi (Maya Devi Rajput & Maharani Italian Dance Company).
