Presidency Message
By: Sister Rachel Patton
"Just as the motto of Relief Society reminds us that 'charity never faileth,' we must believe that the love of Christ will never fail us. All that we do in Relief Society should reflect the love of our Savior and the love of our Heavenly Father. This great love should be the source of our motivation to serve others. It must be both our point of origin and our destination!" ~ Bonnie D. Parkin

Just want to share with all of you something I had made after my dad passed away. It is a memory box. I made one for my mom and one for myself. My mom's was a Mother's day gift. She is going to use her's to put love letters and such that my dad had written her along with other things that remind her of my dad. I bought the boxes from Michael's when they were on sale for $2. I bought the brown cardboard looking ones. They sell all different kinds but the white or brown will do best if you want to make it your own style. I then painted it with acrylic paint using a dish sponge. I used 2 coats of paint to make sure it covered. I then bought about 3 pieces of scrapbook paper so I could line the inside. I measured the inside and cut it to fit and then glued it with a gluestick. You can decorate the outside with stickers and stencil lettering like I did for my mom's or just leave it plain like I did on mine. The possibilities are endless. These make great inexpensive gifts or are just great for your own personal use. I have also thought about making one for each of my kids and putting things in it like their binkies, wristbands from the hospital, just little things that I want to keep forever. If anyone would like to make one and needs more info just let me know and I would love to help!

Dear Sisters, For the month of August I want you to focus on serving one another. In Mosiah 2:17 King Benjamin said, when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God. I ask you sisters to focus on serving one another this month. Fulfill your calling as a visiting teacher. Be a friend to someone in need. If you see a sister sitting alone, sit by her. Find someone in need and comfort them.
