The Chaos Entropy. You might have heard of it in your high school chemistry classes.

Its on e of those thermodynamics concepts that you are forced to memorize. We might as well hate because of the complex equations involved in it. The first time Ive rea d about it, I thought that it was just a regular nerdy thing. I regarded it as s omething not important for a common student. I thought that its one of those sup er technical words that only a few people really know its meaning. But all of th at changed all of a sudden. As I read more about it, I became fascinated by its far-reaching implications. I was amazed. I was also surprised by the fact that Im very affected by this strange concept I have recently knew about. But curiosit y got the better of me. I continued reading more about it. My imagination was st irred by the strangeness and vagueness of this concept we call entropy. Entropy is defined as the measure of the disorder of a given system. It is conce rned with the randomness that accompanies every object and situation you can eve r think of. It affects us in a way that will surprise you. Many things in this w orld cannot exist without although it appears as a paradox because entropy is se en as an agent of destruction. It is hard to imagine a force design to wear thin gs to dust as an agent of creation. In other words, it is chaos. It is all over the universe. No one can escape from it. I cant help but wonder its effects on th e life Im living. And thats how I became very much interested in it. I began to realize that many o f the things we usually do, are done for the sake of entropy. According to the S econd Law of Thermodynamics, the entropy of the universe is increasing with time . All objects tend to be, in some way or another, become disordered. Entropy ca n also be viewed as the gradual deterioration of all things in existence. It is what they call times arrow because through these deteriorations that time cannot move back. Shattered glass will not spontaneously rebuild itself. It is all thro ugh entropy we can observe time. Man-made structures crumble. Planets and stars are reduced to nothing but space dust. Living things like humans die. Thats how powerful it is. And there is onl y one way to avoid its effect, by investing energy. Completely stopping the incr ease in disorder is impossible. We, humans, invest energy in the form of food. T he food we eat supplies us with the energy we need to go on living. And we all k now that that at some distant time, even if we eat, death is going to be upon us . Entropy is destined to defeat us all. We all must, at some distant time, submi t to its supreme power. Thats how nature works. Nothing is really permanent in t his world. Through entropy I was also able to realize that life, existence and the whole un iverse are all interconnected in a special way. For me, these things are very im portant to humankind and we ought to know them. I have said a while ago that the entropy of the universe is increasing in time. It cannot be stopped. Its the law of nature. But there is an apparent contradiction here on Earth. The civilizat ion that humans formed a long time ago was decreasing the entropy of Earth throu gh its existence. Humans that were once scattered all over the face of the plane t are now living in well-established nations. And these nations strive to achiev e world peace, a state in which disorder and chaos are abolished. From the viewp oint of entropy, this continual decrease in randomness cannot go on forever. Its because of the fact that we dont have a perpetual source of energy that we can us e to counteract the effect of disorder. We must realize that the effort we exert to keep this civilization existent is not enough. The Law of Entropy does allow for a decrease in disorder but this is not free. As a direct consequence of our existence and actions, we are continually increasing the disorder in other part s of the universe. This increase in entropy can be viewed as a kind of sacrifice by the universe. The universe itself is slowly crumbling away to pieces just to accommodate living things. We must realize that life really is precious. And t

here will a time that all of this increase in disorder will stop. When the unive rse can no longer handle it. At some distant time, when all is disorder, the un iverse as we know it must end. Its a quote Ive got from a Chemistry book. It affir ms the existence of an end. An end for the universe and an end for our world.
