Step aside Werewolf. This concerns the other children of Mother Moon.

From the steppes of Central Asia and the annals of history, the Asena bloodline has risen. To Kindred of other clans and bloodlines, the Huns appear preoccupied with guiding the Turkic peoples in times of war and distress. Although there is an undeniable innate connection forged since ancient times, this assumption is barely scratching the surface of the divine mission to which these Savages attend. Not many know the truth about the Huns and it is perhaps bust that they don't. Originating from the moon goddess Ay Tanri, the Asena are tasked with defeating Erlik and his spirit creations; the terrible baykush. The baykush are a constant -albeit invisible- threat to all Kindred and Cainille. Their reputation seems inconsistent to those who've met one of the children of Ay Tanri, some say they're scholars or shamans while others consider the Asena as nothing more than Savage warriors; descendants of Attila in every way. In truth, there are three types of Hun Kindred. The Ashiks, were originally storytellers and entertainers of the bloodline. The Tumen, fit the warrior Hun stereotype, having followed the Turkic armies in their campaigns throughout history. Lastly, the Shamans are the mystics and prophets of the line. They've led the bloodline's religious rituals since the antiquity, guiding the line's spiritual health and connection with the gods of Tengriism. Parent Clan: Gangrel Bloodline disciplines: Animalism, Protean, Resilience, Majesty (Ashiks), Vigor (Tumen), Auspex (Shamans) Nickname: Huns, Turuks, Matasuntha Weakness: When Asena -the mythic she-wolfbrought up the bloodline's progenitor, she instructed him to never harm another child of the Moon. The promise given to Asena by the Huns is mystically binding all members of the bloodline, rendering them unable to harm another Lupine; the children of Mother Luna. Some instances of Huns harming werewolves have been circulating by Ashiks in some domains but the Asena are not aware as to what differentiates which werewolves they can harm -the Pure- and which not. History and Culture: The origin tales of the Asera are inevitably tied with their religion; Tengriism. The progenitor of all Huns is Ay Tanri -the moon goddess, daughter of the Sky and Earth- although the Ashiks of the bloodline do not consider her as one of the Damned. A mortal named Erlik, tricked the goddess into granting him powers with which he created malicious spirits named baykush. When Ay Tanri came to punish Erlik, he claimed to have created the spirits as servants to her honour. Oblivious to Erlik's plans, the moon goddess awarded him for his deeds by making him immortal; equal to the gods. Then, the treacherous man commanded the spirits to spread death amongst the Hsiung-Nu people and demanded sacrifices of them if they wished to survive the attacks of the spirits. Obedient at first, the Hsiung-Nu sent their fiercest warriors to destroy Erlik and the baykush. The Shamans, under false visions sent by Erlik, guided the nomadic Hsiung-Nu to the Altai mountains where the god had them trapped. A terrible battle followed and all the warriors were massacred by Erlik and his spirit servants. Without their protectors, the trapped Turks provided sacrifices to the god who would not be appeased. The warriors' families suffered first. Seeing this, Ay Tanri sent the she-wolf Asena to find the last surviving child of one of the warriors -an infant- whom the she-wolf took with her to raise as a warrior, granting him her mastery over spirits and unthinkable skills in battle. A grown man, the child returned and taught the ways of the wolf to his people. Those most responsive to his message of hope, he embraced and took with him to fight Erlik. The first Huns were victorious against Erlik in the most heroic battle the bloodline has ever faced. Devastated by defeat, Erlik offered to let the Hsiung-Nu leave the Altai mountains if they'd let him leave unharmed. Since then, the Huns have become the protectors of Kindred and kine, fighting the baykush wherever they can find them. spirits who speak the wisdom of Ay Tanri and decide on the potential Hun's fate and role within the bloodline. The Shaman then annoints the Turuk as either an Ashik, a Tumen or a fellow Shaman. Few were the instances when the spirits demanded that the initiated Kindred be slain as he would one day betray his brothers and sisters. Traditionally, the Ashiks would remind his fellow Huns of the glorious history of the Asena. Proficient in storytelling techniques, they would use musical instruments -such as the saz- or even small reenactments of the deeds of famous Turuks, battles against spirits and even manifestations of Erlik. In modern nights, the Ashiks do attend to their ancient duty albeit in a more scholarly manner. They are archaeologists and researchers, presenting their findings to other members of the bloodline -occasionally in an entertaining manner. The most reputed members of the bloodline, the Tumen are the fierce nomadic warriors of Turkic history. Tumen have always been following the Turkic armies and have witnessed the rise and fall of countless khaganates. Although some Tumen maintain the ancient ways of their caste, most young Kindred who join the ranks are able-bodied soldiers of the armed forces of modern Turkic states. Regardless of age, all Tumen

believe that the wars they've fought in were all part of a greater plan to stop Erlik and the baykush. Priests amongst the Huns, the Shamans guide the Tumen and Ashiks in realizing the divine purpose to stop the baykush. They are often the wisest members of the bloodline although outsiders see them as eccentrics at best. They are rumoured to be able to speak with spirits and sometimes the gods. Their prophecies are always intended to guide the receiver but are never fully understood until they come to pass. The greatest gathering of Huns is the Kurultai. Convened by the Shamans with the most potent blood, the leaders of the Tumen and Ashiks gather at a location of spiritual significance for the bloodline and discuss the progress of the Asena in their mission or threats against the bloodline as a whole. The last Kurultai was held in 2004 in Uluda, Turkey. In domains with a large presence of Huns, the Shamans may decide to hold a smaller, local Kurultai to strengthen the ties of bloodline members.
