Lord Vinayaga is venerated as the foremost God of the Universe.

He is glorified as the chief of the Vedas he is the flame of wisdom. One of the famous Vinayagar Temple is one at Eachanari, which is situatedon the Pollachi highway 9 Kms away from Coimbatore. It is said that when the Vinayaga idol measuring 6 feet high and 3 feet in diame ter was being transported from Madurai in a cart for installation at Patteeswara r Temple, Perur, the axle of the cart broke and it became scated in the place wh ere it is now. Efforts to remove the idol to perur did not materialize and this place where the Lord Graces is popularly known as Eachanari Vinayaga Temple. Under the Presidentship of Sri.N.Mahalingam and the //vice presidentship of Shri .P.K.Duraisamy the renovation commitee, renovated the present temple and the con secration ceremony was conducted with in the splendor presence of Kanchi Kamakod i Peetam Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal. The administration of the temple was handed over to HR&CE on 05-08-1977 and the annual income from the temple was just Rs.67,736/-. Due to the efficient administration the annual income whichwas as low as Rs.67,7 36/- grew by leaps and bounds to more than Rs.30 Lakh in just 15 years. This inc rease in annual income year after year in comparison with other temples is a tes timony for efficient administration. The annual income of the year fasali 1417 i s Rs.1,31,04,611/-. This temple has been upgraded to the level of Assistant Comm issioner. Worship Time This Temple is opened at 5am everyday and is closed at 10pm without any break of worship time. Everyday Ganapathy Homam is performed by Kattalaitharars as on date 300 Kattalaitharars for Ganapathy Homam regularly performed each day. For perform ing Ganapathy Homam Pooja", the Kattalaitharar has to pay Rs.15,000/- that amount will be deposited and the interest accured on deposit will be utilised the Ganap athy Homam Pooja every year as requested by the Kattalaitharar. Nakshatra Abishegams and Alankarams Everyday, Nakshatra Abishegams and Alankarams is performed from Aswini to Revath y 27 Nakshatras. Alankaram for Nakshatra vary as for the particular Nakshatra, f or particular Alankarams. Devotees offers Nakshatra Abishegams and Alankarams ev eryday. That is the Special feature of this temple. This temple is one of the most popular Ganesha temples in Coimbatore and neighbo uring districts. It is also one of the oldest in Coimbatore and dates back to ar ound 1500A.D. The moolavar (murti of Ganesha which is installed in the sanctum s anctorum) at this temple was actually meant for the Perur Patteeswarar temple bu t the vehicle carrying it got stuck here on its way from Madurai.
