Our special nights are: August 5, 19, 26.

THOUGHTS FROM BRAD

Over the past month, we studied some of the One Another passages of the New Testament and looked at relevant themes to your Christian life like: Encourage one another; Live in harmony with one another; & Stop passing judgment on one another. Now we are going to do a series Im calling, Q & A. This series is a basic doctrine series that I want to present mainly in a teaching environment about subjects like: Jesus, Baptism, Repentance, Heaven, Hell & Satan, and the Holy Spirit. So, for next week, if you have a question bouncing around in your head concerning baptism, send me an e-mail by Wednesday at Brad@new-churches.org and I will try to cover it in my session if at all possible. The same goes for all the other subjects I plan to address in this series. If you do not have an e-mail, feel free to write it down on the back of a silent roll call card today and drop it in the offering plate when passed. Thank you for your assistance! My goal is to lay a better foundation for your faith so we can better be ready to give an answer about the hope we have in Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 3:15) I pray you have a great week in the Lord and may you serve Him with joy in your heart. In His Service,

BITS FROM BRO. DAVE

SCOTTS THOUGHTS
SUNDAY EVENINGS IN THE SANCTUARY:

Have you ever been present (in the room) when a conversation took place that directly affected you but went on as though you were not even there? Did you feel awkward, maybe hurt or even angry? It never feels good to be overlooked or forgotten, yet sometimes this is how we treat God. If we envision God as far away in heaven, seated on a great white throne, we grasp His majesty but miss His intimacy. Countless times I have seen wall hangings that remind us that God is an unseen but present guest at every meal and a part of every conversation. Worship is about declaring Gods worth in every aspect of our lives, He is to direct our lives in their entirety. How many times are we guilty of living as though God were not there yearning to inform our discussion, influence our decisions and accept our declarations of His worth in our lives? I pray for forgiveness when we allow worship to be limited to an hour on Sunday instead of ceaseless conversation with our Father, our Savior and our Comforter. In Him, Scott

This week (7/22), our Pondering the Proverbs series continues with a study from Proverbs 27:1 titled, Lifes Most Dangerous Word. The final message, in this series, on July 29, will be Is Happiness Just A Word? (Proverbs 16:20). Why not be a part of these 6:00 PM worship services. Each week we enjoy a brief song service and communion for those who desire.
FINAL THOUGHT: One of lifes briefest

moments is the time between reading the sign on the expressway and realizing you have just missed the exit ramp.

Q & A about Jesus

Brad Seevers preaching

Core Values...
Values central to the life, mission and vision of Fifth Avenue Church of Christ are:

Sermon Notes ________________________

________________________________________ ________________________________________ ________________________________________ ________________________________________ ________________________________________ ________________________________________ ________________________________________ ________________________________________ _______________________________________ ________________________________________ ________

Christ-Centered Worship
We make it a priority every Sunday to celebrate Jesus through our music. (Romans 11:36-12:1-2). We focus on Jesus through grace-based preaching and teaching & understand the Bible is our authority (2 Timothy 3:16).

Church Health and Biblical Balance

Church health becomes reality when God's people seek harmony & live consistently. We expect every member to protect the unity of Christ's Church. (Romans 12:16; 1 Peter 3:8)

Global Evangelism
We are constant to our founding call to worldwide evangelism, proclaiming to all that Jesus Christ is the Savior, Healer, and Soon-Coming King (Acts 20:27).

Fellowship and Ministry

After people begin their journey with Jesus, we will equip them to find a ministry based upon their strengths. We want everyone to serve in some capacity. (1 Corinthians 12:12-27) We also want His church to be the living evidence of His love and power to the world.

How Can I Respond Today?

At FACC we look to the Bible for guidance on ________________________________________ all issues. We believe that Gods Word is __ clear concerning what a person must do to become a Christian. Trust that Jesus can bring you to salvation. Turn (repent) from the sin in your life. Confess your desire to make Jesus the Lord of your life. Be baptized (immersed) in water for the forgiveness of sins and to receive the Holy Spirit into your life. To make this life decision for Christ, we ask that you come forward during our commitment song at the conclusion of the Sunday message. Baptized believers are welcome to become members at FACC by coming forward on Sunday morning or by seeing our Senior Minister to discuss this further. We ask that you complete a series of Curious classes to help you better understand what you are committing to as a member.

Discipleship
We do not want you to "get religion" here at Fifth Avenue Church of Christ in Lancaster. We are all about teaching you that Jesus seeks a daily relationship with Him through a life of obedience. In other words, we want to see the things you are taught actually change your lifestyle & your daily decisions.

Social Conscience
We place high value on the sanctity of human life, of Biblical marriage and morality, and we welcome ethnic diversity (Isaiah 56:7; Philippians 2:15-16).
