Letter Seeking Permission for an Industrial Visit

This is a request letter to seek your kind permission for an industrial visit to your Satellite Centre. As per our university norms, engineering students are expected to visit prominent industries and companies for an exposure to the latest trends. Consequently, the third-year students of Electronics & Communication Department of our college, desire to visit the ISRO Centre for a day, preferably, 30 March 2009. The total number of students would be approximately 130 accompanied by two faculty members. At this juncture, it is a pleasure for me to introduce to you, our college and department on behalf of the students and faculty. SSN Institutions, established by Padma Bhushan Dr Shiv Nadar, the Chairman of HCL, is popularly known as the prime education centre wherein merit is the only criterion. Here, there is a coveted tradition of awarding 240 scholarships worth Rs.4 Crores every year for meritorious and deserving students. SSN adopted the e-learning teaching methodology in the Wi-Fi campus in 2007. Out of the 250 engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu, our college maintains the top rank in all Anna University examinations. The OUTLOOK Magazine ranked the college 9th among the private engineering colleges in India (June 2008). Data Quest ranked the college 28th among all engineering colleges in India (June 2008). The Department was accredited by NBA in 2003. We would be immensely grateful to you if you could please allow us to visit the ISRO Satellite Centre on 30 March 2009.
