NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE 2012 IMMERSION AND EXCHANGE PROGRAM FOR MOBILE TEACHER (MT) CONDUCTED AT DAVAO, TAGUM

Republic of the Philippines Department of Education Bureau of Alternative Learning System Cordillera Administrative Region Division of Apayao Kabugao District April 28, 2012 NARRATIVE REPORT I. Introduction The Bureau of Alternative Learning System (BALS) planned to haved a 2012 Immersion and exchange program to get together for professional advancement to learn, share experience, improve our best practices in implementing the ALS programs and projects. Activities Undertaken April 22, 2012 - Deped-CAR Conference Hall Regional Office ALS Implementers oriented the Mobile teacher on how to conduct the advocacy and social mobilization, literacy mapping assessment if the prospective learners using the FLT tools in conducting the organized classes in the learning sessions. April 23, 2012 - We arrived at Davao City Airport at exactly 11:45. The Division of Tagum City headed by ESP Laila Ibatha waited for us in full force support at the arrival area. The ESP bring us to Tagum City Division Office for courtesycall with the SDS Nenita E. Lumaad and we feel the warm wlcome of each mobile teacher and we received tokens came from SDS. The Team procedd to regional Office for the courtesy call with the director and have also our lunch. The supervisor house us to Tagum Vocational Trade school. We have our Dinner Fellowship sponsored by LGU. We visited the Barangay Hall for a courtesy call to the DepEd Officials, LGU Officials and Barangay Officials with their warm welcome and respectful acceptance to the CAR mobile teachers with the support of the ALS program. April 24, 2012 We visited Palengkwelahan inside the Public Market to see the some learners. We have the running tours to Auditorium-Sports Complex. We proceeded to the Venue of the immersion , the CLC of Barangay Liboganon to conduct the FLT to expected learners that we recruited during the literacy mapping. We conducted advocacy and social mobilization to the learners in a friendly and brotherhood system with a good result. April 25, 2012 We arrive the CLC at Liboganon to have demo teaching for the Informal Education. The learners are very happy and enjoy making activities in making soap curving, driftwood decoration and making rugs. During the closing

program, people inside the community are enjoyed watching cultural dance of the CAR Region. Dr. Edel Carag arrived with the BALS family. We accomplished our itinerary for us to receive our allowance. The LGU family and CAR Implementers have the socialization at exactly 6:30 in the evening at Liboganon Learning Center. We have a short program with a full and blessed dinner to all ALS implementers of the Tagum City and the CAR Region. April 26, 2012 we assembled early to experience river crossing and motorpool for bayanihan. We accomplished an individual output to meet the requirement in the immersion. April 27, 2012 - Travel Day. III. Insights In deciding with the different culture, we should employ oneness, cooperation and good relationship to make work easier. Best practices Observed In Literacy mapping, the group leader are very supportive especially the mayor, because they allotted 300,000.00 per year for literacy projects to improve the ALS program. Problem Encountered Culture shocked to the mobile teachers because of the communication gap very few can speak tagalong. Recommendation The stakeholders are very supportive in the sustainability of implementing ALS programs. Commitment after the Immersion The skills and best practices I have observed and learned. I should apply it to my station to improve my passers.
