our checks and balances prevent any one person from having too much power and gives each branch the power to check eachother. We have the bill of rights and the constitution. We also have amendments so that our constitution may grow and adapt with the times. There is a process to amend the constitution, it does not just change. of the states must ratify the amendment. Napolean had rules on his barn, just as we have the constitution, but his rules were easily changed and had no process and he had no limitation.
