All CTs are earthed towards line At pre-fault condition, both lines are exporting the power A fault occurs at point F. The system configuration may lead to the shown current ditribution after fault (I guess, I did not make totally impractical case) Ideally, opening of 52-B, 52-T and remote end of 52-B shall isolate the fault But, in this case when there is feed from the remote end (at least in LHS line); both distance relay will pick up & operate (current in 21-A relay is 800A & 21-B is 2800 A) If above case is correct, then there is un-necessary tripping in healthy line. Is this a drawback in distance relay that it can not discriminate fault in case of 1.5 Breaker topology? OR what is shall be the scheme implementation to overcome such situation
