Sperms : spermatozoon/ spermatozoid Male gametes Smallest cells in the body Move about in semen Are produced when a boy reaches puberty at about 13 years old. A man can produce sperms until he dies About 0.01 0.05 mm long Function : to fertilize an egg cell Cannot live longer than 72 hours outside the body of a male

Changes in a Male during Puberty Puberty : a period when a person changes from a child into an adult Physical & emotional changes happen caused by production of sex hormone by the testes : testosterone

Penis & testes become bigger Begins to produce sperms Hair begins to grow in the pubic region & on the armpits Begins to grow a beard Voice box (larynx) enlarges & voice deepen Begins to show interest in the opposite sex
