Comments: Jamie understands major concepts and principals that are necessary to teach the target objective of this math lesson. She evaluates and creates teaching resources that are useful in making learning meaningful to her students. Excellent use of the Smartboard to guide this lesson and the objectives. Students were engaged while using their whiteboards during guided practice as well as working on practice problems during independent practice. Comments: Jamie analyzed individual performance in order to design instruction and learning activities that meet learners' current needs. She employs a variety of activites to address different learning styles. Students had to apply the general knowledge previously acquired to complete the tasks. Effective use of lines to multiply problems and highlighting numbers for visual students. Good use of whiteboards. Excellent modeling provided. Effective use of calculator on screen to check problems. Teacher discussed using different strategies to answer math problems. Teacher taught this lesson by breaking the process up into small steps. Comments: Excellent plans for this lesson. Jamie really thought through the lesson and there was a target objective, introduction, transitions and a solid closing. She puts countless hours into planning an engaging and meaningful lesson. Excellent use of technology. Nice job having a math extension game planned and prepared for students who finished. 1

Comments: Jamie is working hard to improve managing students' behaviors. We discussed focusing on picking out students that are meeting expectations and giving them positive praise. ex. verbal praise and character counts slips Jamie is going to continue working on transitions. We discussed practicing silent transitions, timed transitions etc. Continue setting expectations and making sure that it is silent when giving directions. Jamie did a nice job of anticipating behaviors with the markers and whiteboards. Effective use of wait time. Think about using positive praise and coupons while waiting. Think about using name sticks to keep students on their toes. Nice job checking time on SmartBoard to pace lesson. Comments: Nice job having technology set up and ready to go in the back of the room. Teacher began lesson by using the target objective and slide to go with it. Teacher reviewed multiplication skills up to this point. Teacher began modeling 3 by 1 multiplication and students worked through problems on the whiteboards. Teacher was able to assess learning immediatly. Nice job using calculator to check problems. Students enjoyed using the Smartboard. Tell students that you will try more problems ..do not ask them. Nice job connecting reflection to science unit. Teacher used SmartBoard effectively to guide the lesson in an organized way. Students are sent to seats to work on independent practice. Students checked in with teacher before they could get another practice sheet. Teacher did a good job of monitoring learning and meeting the needs of learners immediately. Teacher prepared a math extension game for students to work on when they finished their practice. Teacher began to close the lesson. I liked that she connected the math objective with real life. Because there was not a lot of timesimply think about a quick review of the learning objective. Comments: Jamie was positive and at ease during this lesson.

Comments: Teacher informally assessed student learning and understanding through discussion/questioning. Immediate feedback was taken from student whiteboards while doing guided practice problems. Teacher informally assessed students while they were working independently on the worksheets at their desks. Teacher had three practice assignments that she checked in before getting the next worksheet. Teacher circled any incorrect problems and students corrected their mistakes. Students who understood all practice assignments were then directed to work on the extension math game. Effective use of thumbs up/thumbs down. Comments: Jamie is a reflective person who enjoys feedback and adjusts her teaching to support the needs of her learners. She has gone above and beyond in asking questions about her teaching to make it the best that it can be. She also takes suggestions graciously and makes modifications to her lessons immediately. She really thinks about the feedback that is given to her. It is easy to see that Jamie will be a life-long learner. She has a great attitude about improving herself! Comments: Strengths & Suggestions Jamie is very eager to participate in all school functions and discussions. Jamie has a very upbeat personality and really enjoys and values making a difference in her students' education. She has so many creative ideas and really enjoys discussing best practices. Jamie has jumped right in from day one. She is eager to take on responsibilites as they come her way. Jamie is a hard working student teacher. Excellent job of integrating technology! Jamie maintains a professional appearance, grooming, language and interactions. Jamie is very prompt in preparing lessons and assignments.

Knows and uses students names' regularly. Uses positive reinforcement and Satisfactory praise. She really took the initiative to get to know her students. She has established a positive partnership with her cooperating teacher. She Satisfactory has been given much feedback from her cooperating teacher and really appreciates it and works on implementing it.

Other Strengths & Suggestions:

Excellent lesson! Jamie's lesson was organized and flowed well. She used the Smartboard to enhance the lesson and make it engaging to students. Jamie has been working very hard to plan and present lessons that begin with an interesting hook, practice modeling, guided practice, independent practice and end with a solid closing. It has all come together for her this week. She is such a hard worker and puts countless hours into adding technology and resources into her lessons to make them meaningful to her students. Excellent progress this semester! 3
