KURESA VIJAYAM 5 - THRIPURA SAMHARA

THIRIPURA SAMHARA. SAIVAS ARGUEMENT:--ONCE THERE LIVED THREE DEMONS NAMED KAMALAKSHA, DHARUKAAKSHA AND VIDYUNMALI. THEY PERFORMED SEVERE PENANCE TOWARDS BRAHMA AND GOT EXTRAORDINARY POWERS DUE TO: 1. BRAHMAS BOON 2. IMMENSE FAITH IN VEDAS 3. THIER WIFES CHASTITY AND PURITY AND 4. THE HELP OF SANJEEVI SIDDARASA KOOPA (A WELL WITH NECTOR GIVING IMMORTALITY) CREATED BY DEMONS VISVAKARMA MAYAN USING THESE STRONG POWERS, THEY CREATED THREE WORLDS[LOGAS] EACH CONSISTING OF GOLD, SILVER AND IRON RESPECTIVELY. THE SPECIALITY OF THESE WORLDS ARE THAT, THEY CAN FLY FROM ONE PLACE TO OTHER. THE THREE DEMONS SAT ON THESE WORLDS AND FLEW FROM BHOO LOKA TO DEVA LOKA, HARASSING THE DEMIGODS (DEVAS) IN DEVA LOKA AND HUMANS IN THIS WORLD.THEY CONQUERED ALL THE WORLDS. INDIRA AND OTHER DEVAS WER PANIVED BY THIS ACT AND SOUGHT THE HELP OF SIVA.SIVA BURNT ALL THE THREE WORLDS AND KILLED THE THREE DEMONS. HENCE SIVA IS THE SUPREME LORD CLAIMED THE SAIVAS. SWAMI KOORATHZHWANS REPLY: RESPONDING TO THE PRAYERS OF INDIRA AND OTHER DEVAS, SIVA DEMANDED THAT IF HE IS PRAISED WITH THE NAME PASUPATHI, HE WILL HELP THE DEVAS. THE DEVAS PRAISED SIVA AS REQUESTED. THEN SIVA, ALONG WITH DEVAS FOUGHT WITH THE DEMONS AND KILLED MILLIONS OF DEMONS AND THREW THEM IN SIDDARASA KOOPA (IMMORTAL WELL). AS THE WELL HAS THE NECTOR WHICH GIVES IMMORTALITY, THE DEMONS DID NOT DIE AND EMERGED WITH GREAT POWERS AGAIN LIKE THE PLANTS COMING OUT FROM EARTH. SIVA GOT EXHAUSTED AND PRAYED TO LORD MAHAVISHNU FOR HELP.

THE ALMIGHTY AND MOST COMPASSIONATE LORD SRIMAN NARAYANA WHO IS ALWAYS AT THE DOOR STEPS OF HIS DEVOTEE, IMMEDIATELY APPEARED BEFORE SIVA AND ENQUIRED ABOUT SIVAS DISTRESS. SIVA EXPLAINED THE INCIDENT AND PRAYED HIM THE WAYS AND MEANS TO WIN THE DEMONS AND DESTROY THRIPURA. LORD VISHNU SHOWERED HIS BLESSINGS ON SIVA. HE MADE THE HUGE MOUNTAIN MERU AS A BOW, EARTH AS THE CHARIOT, SUN AND MOON AS THE WHEELS FOR THE CHARIOT, BRAHMA AS CHARIOT RIDER, FIXED THE SPEED OF GARUDA AT ARROW AND POSITIONED HIMSELF AT THE TIP OF THE ARROW. HE THEN TRANSFORMED THE UNIQUE POWERS OF DEVAS ON SIVA. HE ALSO BLESSED SIVA WITH KAVASA MANTHRA. HE THEN SWALLOWED ALL THE AMRUTHA (NECTOR) IN THE SIDDHARASA KOOPA (IMMORTAL WELL) AND MADE IT EMPTY. LORD VISHNU THEN TOOK THE FORM OF BUDDHA AND STARTED PREACHING THE DEMONS AGAINST THE VEDAS. BY DOING SO HE GRASPED ALL THE VIRTUE (PUNYA) OF THE DEMONS. IN ORDER TO REMOVE THE CHASTITY OF THE DEMONS WIFE, THE LORD TRANSFORMED HIMSELF TO A ARASA TREE (BODHI TREE).HE ASKED THE DEMONS WIFE TO EMBRACE THE TREE TO GET FURTHER GOOD BENIFITS. THE WIFE OF DEMONS BELIEVED SO AND EBRACED THE TREE. HENCE THEY LOST ALL THEIR PURITIES, CHATITY AND GOOD QUALITIES. THIS, BEING THE RIGHT TIME, LORD SRIMAN NARAYANA URGED SANKARA TO MAKE A FIERCE FIGHT WITH THE DEMONS. WHEN SIVA WAS FIGHTING WITH THE DEMONS, THE ENTIRE WEIGHT RESTED ON ONE SIDE OF THE CHARIOT [EARTH] WHICH FELL DOWN IN TO THE ATHALA LOKA. LORD VISHNU TOOK THE SHAPE OF OX [RISHAPA] AND LIFTED THE EARTH TO ITS POSITION. DURING THIS FIERCE WAR BETWEEN SIVA AND THE THREE DEMONS DHARUKAAKSHA, KAMALAAKSHA AND VIDYUN MALI, LORD VISHNU WHO HAS POSITIONED HIMSELF IN THE TIP OF THE ARROW OF SIVAS BOW, BURNT THE CRUEL DEMONS AND THE TRIPURA (THREE WORLDS). SIVA CLAIMED THIS AS HIS DEED.

WHEN LORD VISHNU, WITH ALL HIS VARIOUS MAYAS MADE SIVA TO FIGHT AND MADE THIS BATTLE A GRAND SUCCESS, HOW COULD ONE CLAIM SIVA AS SUPREME, EXCLAIMED KOORESA.

FURTHER SWAMI EXPLAINED THAT THE ABOVE MENTIONED PRAMANA ARE STATED IN SEVENTH SCANTO OF SRI BAGHAVATHA PURANA, IN SKANTHA PURANA - SAPTHA SKANTHA (SEVENTH CANTO) IN HARI VAMSA, NAARATHEEYA AND UTHTHARA KOORMA. MOREOVER IN MAHABHARATA-KARNA PARVA, IT IS STATED VISHNUR AATMA BHAGAVATHA: BHAVASYA AMITHATHEJASAA AS LORD VISHNU WAS THE ANTARYAMI TO THE BRIGHT LOOKED SIVA, HE WAS ABLE TO FIGHT WITH HIS BOW AND ARROW AND DID THE TRIPURA SAMHARA. HE STATED ALL THESE PRAMANAS AND REFUTED THE SAIVAS.

KURESA VIJAYAM 22 - Vishnu searching for Shivas Foot & Head

Saivaites claimed that Your Supreme lord Mahavishnu and Creator Brahma endeavoured to touch the Foot and Head of Lord Shiva respectively but could not succeed in doing so. Hence Shiva is in supremacy.

Kuresa quoted the verse from Vedas in sequence and refuted their proclamation:

The serpent bed of Sriman Narayana, The Adhisesha acts as the pedestal and supports all the 14 lokas with his head. Lord Vishnu upholds that Adhisesha too along with the 14 Lokas, taking the form of Adhi Koorma.

This being the truth is it difficult for our Lord just to see the extent of Shivas foot?

Lord Vishnu possess all the world abode and the entities living in there, as his Thirumeni (Divine Form). Jagath Sarvam Sareeram thae

These verse from the pramana reaffirms the truth.

All the demigods such as Indra, Shiva, Brahma etc are part of Vishnus Sareera (Divine body)

Sa Brahma sashiva seindra soakshara parama svaraat

Antar bahischa tat sarvam vyapya narayanasthitha:

While the Sruthi Siras (Vedantha) stating these as the truth, it is evident that your supreme lord Shiva is a part (Angah) of Lord Vishnu. In that case is it not true that your statement is an entity to make fun of??

Another verse of Sruthi goes by this:

Yasya Brahma Kshathram chope bavatha vothanam

Lord Vishnu eats Brahma and Shiva like an Odhana anna (food) during Pralaya.

Mruthyu Yasya upasechanam

We eat our food with pickle as a side dish and at the end swallow the pickle too before washing. The same way the Parabrahma uses Shiva to destroy the world during the Pralaya and finally destroys him too.

Once there lived a demon called Hiranyaksha. He folded the universe like a mat and hid it in the Pathala Loka. All the demigods with Brahma as the leader approached Sriman Narayana in His Milky ocean (Ksheerabdhi) to retrieve the world. The All compassionate almighty immediately acceded to their plead and took the form of Maha Varaha. He then fought with the demon, destroyed Him and reinstated the world, so as to function as usual. This being the real story as stated in pramanas, the Saivaites claim that MahaVishnu took the form of Varaha to see Shivas Foot is absurd.

If at all, the Saivas try to show pramana for their stand, it is stated only in thamasa purana written by Veda Vyasa to popularise the Mohana sastra created by Shiva as per Thirumals instruction. These tamasa pramana includes Skanda purana and Rudra geeta.

All the factual statements are clearly mentioned in Sri Bagavatha Purana and Vishnu Purana.

So my dear poets and aristocrats!! Please examine with a clear mind and come to the right conclusion Kuresa. concluded

KURESA VIJAYAM 5 - YAMA SAMHARA Koorathaazwan, (who is deeply devoted to Sri Ramanuja, who always prostrate to Swami Nammazwar who is considered as the Paduka of Sriman Narayan) is debating with the Saiva Pandits in Chola Kings Court. On this series of debate, next we shall discuss about yet another proclamation by Saiva on the Topic Yama Samhara.

Saivas Statement:
Mrikandu Munivar worshipped Shiva and sought from him the boon of begetting a son. He was given the choice between a gifted son with a short lived tenure on earth or a dunce with a long life. Mrikandu Munivar chose the former, and was blessed with Markandeya, an exemplary son, destined to die at the age of 16. Markandeya grew up to be a great devotee of Shiva. On the day of his destined death Markandeya continued to worship a Shivalingam. The messengers of Yama, the God of death were unable to take away the lad's life, given his devotion to Shiva and his being engaged in the act of worship then. Yama himself came in person to take his life away and sprung his noose around the young sage's neck. The noose landed around the Shivalingam, and out of it, Shiva emerged in all his fury, and

kicked Yama and killed Death itself. He then revived him, under the condition that the
devout youth would live for ever. Saivas Claimed that as Shiva killed the death King Yama, he is the Supreme Lord.

Swami Koorathaazwan discarded:

The Katha Upanishad (1.2.25) says: yasya brahma ca kshatram ca ubhe bhavatah odanah mrityur yasyopasecanam ka ittha veda yatra sah

Lord Sriman Narayana for whom the entire universe consisting of all forms of Movable (Brahma) and immovable (Kshatra) are food (odanam) and (God of) Death is pickle (upasechanam) to enjoy dinner says Kathopanishad. We use pickle as the side dish and finish our main course and then eat the pickle to finish the dinner. The same way, Lord Sriman Narayana uses the Samhara Devatha Shiva to destroy the whole world during Pralaya and finally swallow him too.

Mahopanishad proclaims :
Ekohaavai Narayana Aaseeth. Na Brahmaneshano..... Na nakshathrani, na suryo, na chandrama. Once (During Pralaya), there existed only Sriman Narayana. Neither Brahma nor Shiva existed. There was no Stars or Moon. Goes the verse. This clearly says that during MahaPralaya only Sriman Narayana Exists. So if its true that Shiva killed Yama and become supreme, Sriman Narayana destroys the whole universe including Shiva and Brahma which clearly implicates that HE is THE SUPREME LORD.

Swami further explained the reason for Markandeyas Chiranjeevi status:

The Pramana goes by these verse: Aaradhyo Bagavan Vishnu Ekaeva Mayachyutha Kesavaa dharyathe jagath sthavara jangamam Mukthi bukthi pradhadheva svathaeva purushothama.. Vishnu is the only diety, worshiped by me. All the sentient and Non-sentient beings in this world are sustained by Kesava. Purushothama is the only Diety who grants us all the wishes on this world and grants us the Eternal World Srivaikuntam. It is also stated that, Shiva brought Markandeya to Hrishikesa who fulfils all the desire Of HIS devotees, and made markandeya to prostrate before Lord Vishnu and obtained Chiranjeevi Status and Vishnu Bhakthi. Thus Swami refuted Shiva Parathva and Reinstated Vishnu Parathva in the Chola Kins Court.

KURESA VIJAYAM 10 - Shiva Destroying Dhaksha Prajapathis Yagna The King of Kooram, Swami Koorathazwan was debating with the Saivas in Chola Kings court. During that period,

Saivas spat :
Dhaksha performed a yaga with out inviting our God Shiva. He also disregarded Shiva by not giving the Havis from the Yaga. Our deity Isa got furious about that incident. In order to destroy all the deities present in that yagna including (Vishnu, Brahma etc..), he created Veerabadra from his third eye and destroyed the yaga. Hence our Shiva is the supreme deity.

Swami Koorathazwans retort :

Hey Pandits!! The statement you proclaimed is against the verses of Vedhas & Vaidheeka Sastras. It is clearly stated in the Pramana that Neither Lord Vishnu nor Brahma attended the above said Yaga done by Dhaksha. This being the truth, it is iniquitous to say that they are defeated.

SriVeda Vyasa Baghavan has penned three types of Purana at three stages: When Tamo guna exceeds, he created six puranas to exert a pull on demons. There are six other puranas created by him during the period where Rajasa Guna beat up. Then after realising the true path and in order to dwell in the lotus feet of Sriman Narayana, he crafted six Satvika Puranas. This is Clearly stated in the Satvika Padma Purana in 235th Adyaya:
Satvika Puranas: Vaihnavam Naaradheeyam cha thatha Bhagavatham shubam Gaarudam cha thathaa paadmam vaaraaham shuba dharshane!!

Vishnu Purana Naradiya Purana Padma Purana Garuda Purana Varaha Purana Srimad Bhagavata Maha Purana Rajasa Puranas: Brahmaandam Brahmavaivartham Markandeyam thathaiva cha Bhavishyam vaamanam brahmam rajasani nibhodhitha!! Brahmanda Purana Brahmavaivarta Markandeya Purana Bhavishya Purana Vamana Purana Brahma Purana Tamasa Puranas : Matsyam Kowrma thatha laingam saivam skandham thathaivacha

Aagneyam cha shadethani thamasani nibhodhitha!! Matsya Purana Kurma Purana Linga Purana Shiva Purana Skanda Purana Agni Purana Satvika Mokshadha proktha rajasa sarvadha ashubha: Thathaiva thamasa devi nirayaprapthihethava:!!236.21 Among these puranas Satvika Puranas lead one to liberation, Rajasa do not cause good and tamasa puranas lead one to hell. Having said this, not all portions of the Rajasa and Tamasa Puranas are invalid. Wherever they are in accordance with other satvika puranas they are perfectly valid.

Satvika Purana called Vishnu Purana clearly states that: During Dhakshas Yagna, only Indra and other devathas were present there. After the yagna, Daksha gave the Havis to Astadhikbalas and eschewed Shiva. Shiva got furious over this issue and created Veerabadhra whose is like a lion in tejas. Shiva ordered Veerabadhra to destroy the Yagna of, spite filled Daksha. Veerabadhra attempted to destroy the yagna. Seeing this, angered Daksha, cursed Shiva that He will not be apposite for any Yagna or Havis. Veerabadhra fought with Dhaksha and chop down. Then Devas led by Brahma came to the spot and woke up Daksha . They also made Daksha to withdarw his curse to shiva and gave the havis. At that time Lord Vishnu appeared and fulfilled the desired of Dakshas Yagna. This is also stated in Bagavatha Purana. Hence it is against the pramana to tell that VISHNU was present in the yagna and was defeated by Shiva. Thus Swami Koorathazwan refuted Saivas.

KURESA VIJAYAM 7 - MANMATHA DHAHANA Swami Koorathaazwan who shinned as the Tridhanda and Pavithra of Swami Ramanuja, discarded the statement on Shiva Parathava put forth by the Saiva Pandits in Kirumikanta Cholas Court . By making various quotes from Pramanas such as Vedas, Ithihasas and Sativika Puranas he established clearly that Sriman Narayana is the one and only ParaBrahmam. The anthology of these series of arguments is compiled as Kuresa Vijayam. Next we discuss on the argument put forth by the Saivas Manmatha Dhahana Event.

Saivas Claim:
Once Shiva got a tiff with Dhaksha and was furiously anger with him. Later, the anger of Shiva subsided, it was replaced by inconsolable sorrow. He withdrew himself from the world and spent all his days in meditation in a desolate forest, close to a cremation ground. Indra and the Devas went to Brahma and said, "Sir, Our foes, the Asuras have once again become powerful. It has been foretold that only the son of Shiva can lead us to victory over them this time. Brahma said, "We must arrange for Uma to wait on Shiva. Once she is in the presence of Rudra, Kama can do the rest." The plan was put into action. Uma (also called Parvati), was informed by the Gods that she was to look after Shiva's needs while he performed his penance. Days passed, Parvati performed her duties diligently. However, Shiva did not even open his eyes. Meanwhile, Indra was growing impatient. He sent for Kama, the God of love and said, "O Kama, only you can save the Devas. For our welfare, it is required that Shiva marry Parvati. She is at present waiting on Shiva, but the Lord has not even noticed her presence. Go immediately and make him fall in love with her." Manmadha, called forth his attendants, including Vasant (spring), and the Apsaras. This seductive army then marched to the place where Shiva was performing his penance. With the arrival of Vasant, the desolate forest was transformed into a beautiful garden, with flowers in full bloom. The songs of the birds filled the air, and a

atmosphere was redolent with a divine fragrance. Parvati looked at this miracle in awe. Shiva however, continued his meditation without being perturbed. Kama judged that it was time. He strung his bow made of sugarcane and affixed a flower tipped arrow to it. Impelled by his incantations, the arrow flew from the bow and struck Shiva squarely on his chest. The Lord felt the arrow, and simultaneously felt desire rise deep inside him. However, in a moment, he had regained control over his mind, and the desire was supplanted by anger. Omniscient, he immediately knew that this was the work of Kama. He opened his third eye (situated in the middle of his forehead), and glanced at the god of Love. Kama was instantly reduced to ashes. The Saivas claimed that, As Shiva burnt Manmadha who is the son of Lord Vishnu, Shiva is the Supreme Lord.

Swami Koorathaazwan refuted by saying:

1) It is true that Shiva burnt Kama. At the same time Shivas desire for parvathi has raised due to the Kamas Bhana. This shows that he is equally dominant. 2) Once Rishi Kapila, with his unparalleled Supernatural powers of his Tapas, burnt the 60,000 sons of Sakara Maharaja. Can we claim that Kapila is 60,000 times Superior than any one? 3) Once there ruled a King called Ikshvagu in Ayodhya (He was preceding king in the same vamsa of SriRama). He made a Tapas towards Brahma. Not withstanding this, Indra and other devas sent Manmadha to destroy the Tapas. Manmadha sent his Kama Bhana (5 Arrows). Ikshvagu Raja was not perturbed by Manmadhas arrows instead he humiliated Manmadha and sent him off. Can we state that Ikshvagu is the supreme lord due to this act?? Exclaimed swami. Thus Swami Koorathazwav thrust aside one another argument from the Saiva Pandits.

KURESA VIJAYAM 4 - SHIVA DRANK POISON FROM AMRUTHAMATHAM

KOORATHAZHWAN WAS THE PRIME SATHSISHYA OF JAGATHACHARYA SWAMI RAMANUJA. AZHWAN IS A FIRM BELIEVER THAT, THOSE WHO HOLDS RAMANUJAS LOTUS FEET[THIRUVADI SAMBANTHAM] WILL SURELY ATTAIN MOKSHA. AZHWAN EXPLAINS TO SAIVA VERSIFIERS PRESENT IN THE CHOZHA KINGS [KIRUMIKANDA CHOZHAN]COURT BY VIRTUE OF HIS EXCELLENT ORATORY SKILL AND IMMENSE KNOWLEDGE, CENSURING SIVAPARATHVAM AND PROVING NARAYANA PARATHVA.

WE DISCUSS NEXT ABOUT SHIVA CONSUMING POISON THAT CAME OUT DURING THE CHURNING OF MILKOCEAN [THIRUPPARKADAL]. SWAMI KOORATHAZWAN HAS MADE SEVERAL QUOTES FROM VARIOUS PRAMANAS AND AUTHENTICATED THAT SRIMAN NARAYANA WHO IS HAVING SRI MAHALAKSHMI IN HIS CHEST IS PARABRAHMAM.DURING THAT PERIOD SAIVAS PUT FORTH ONE MORE POINT TOWARDS THEIR ARGUEMENT.

SAIVAS ARGUEMENT:

WHEN DEVAS AND ASURAS WHERE CHURNING THE MILK OCEAN [THIRUPARKADAL],TO GET AMRUTHAM (NECTOR), VENOMOUS POISON CAME OUT WHICH SIVA HAS CONSUMED. HENCE SIVA IS SUPREME GOD.

SWAMI KOORATHAZHWANS REPLY:

AT THE TIME OF CHURNING THE MILK OCEAN BY BOTH DEVAS AND ASURAS, USING MANTHAARA MOUNTAIN AS CHURNING STICK AND VASUKI [THE SERPENT] AS ROPE, SRIMAN NARAYANA TRANSFORMED [MADE AN AVATHAR] HIMSELF AS KOORMA [TORTOISE] AND POSITIONED THE MOUNTAIN PROPERLY ON HIS BODY.HE ALSO BEING

THE ANTHERYAMI[RECIDING INSIDE}OF DEVAS AND ASURAS, STIRRED THE OCEAN OF MILK AND GOT THE AMRUTHAM.

AT THAT TIME VENOMOUS POISON CAME OUT PRIOR TO AMRUTHA.MAHAVISHNU ASKED SIVA TO SWALLOW THE POISON. HAVING SEEN SHIVAS RELUCTANCE, SRIMAN NARAYANA QUICKLY CONSUMED A PART OF THE POISON AND THE LEFTOUT POISON WAS SWALLOWED BY SHIVA CHANTING NARAYANAS NAMA THRAYA MANTHRA (ACHUTHAYA NAMA:, ANANTHAYA NAMA:,GOVINTHAYA NAMA) AT THAT TIME PARVATHI HELD SHIVAS NECK TO PREVENT THE POISON GOING IN TO HIS STOMACH. THE POISON RETAINED AT HIS NECK.

THIS WAS STATED IN RIG VEDA EIGHTH ASHTAKA, SEVENTH ADYAYA TWENTIFORTH VARGA. THE SAME WAS MENTIONED IN THACCHAKATHA SAMHITHA AND GARUDA PURANA, REPLIED AZHWAN.

PRAHLATHA CHARITRAM:-

PRAHLATHA WAS CHANTING HARI NAMAS ALWAYS WHICH WAS NOT LIKED BY HIS FATHER HIRANYAKASIBU.THE KING USED TO PUNISH HIM WHICH PRAHLATHA DID NOT MIND.ON ONE SUCH OCCASSION,HIRANYAKASIBU ORDERED HIS SERVANT TO GIVE PRAHLADHA VENOMOUS SERPENTS POISON. PRAHLADHA SWALLOWED THE SAME CHANTING ASHTAKSHARA MANTHRA.WITH THE GRACE OF SRIMAN NARAYANA THE POISON BECAME AMRUTHA FOR PRAHLATHA. SHALL WE SAY THAT PRAHLATHA AS SUPREME GOD BECAUSE HE DRANK POISON?? ASKED AZHWAN.

SARPASAYANAM (SNAKE BED):

AATHISESHA IS THE BED AND SEAT FOR SRIMAN NARAYANA.FOR THOSE WHO ARE UNDER THE CARE OF NARAYANA EVEN POISON WILL BECOME AMRUTHAM.THIS IS STATED IN PURANA RATNA SRI VISHNUPURANA. VEDAS SAY NARAYANA IS THE BRAHMAM.

STANYAM TAD VISHA SAMMISRAM RASYAMASIT JAGAD-GURO: - HARIVAMSAM VISHNU PARVAM 6.39

LORD KRISHNA IN HIS CHILDHOOD HAD TAKEN THE POISONOUS MILK FROM DEMON PUTHANA. THIS IS REFERRED IN SRIMAD BHAGAVATHA PURANA AND PADMA PURANA.

HENCE CALLING SIVA AS SUPREME GOD BY YOU POETS, IS FALSE AND AGAINST THE QUOTES OF VEDAS REPLIED AZHWAN.

KURESA VIJAYAM 11 - Arjuna Getting PASUPATHA ASTHRA from Shiva Upon hearing the verdict of Swami Koorathazwan from various Pramanas on Vishnu Parathva, The saivas put forth yet again one more argument on the episode of Arjuna getting the Pasupatha Asthra from Lord Shiva , even though he has Lord Krishna beside him. It is stated in the Yudha Parva of Mahabaratha that Arjuna followed the advice of Sri Krishna to do penance to Lord Shiva to obtain Pasupatha Asthra and went to kailasa to get the same. Hence Shiva is the Superior Lord, claimed the Saivas.

Swamis Reply :

Arjuna pleaded to Lord Krishna to grant him the Manthra to go to Kailasa and obtain Pasupatha Asthra from Shiva. Krishna prompted Arjuna Whichever flowers you want to use to pray to Shiva, worship with those flowers unto MY feet. Arjuna did the same. On the same night, Lord Shiva appeared in arjunas dreams with the same flowers on his head, which was used to prostrate in Lord Krishnas feet.

In Mahabharata, it is stated as:

Padho paniyatham madhusoothanasya

Padharavindha chithra pushpam

Arjuna, saw the same flowers on Gangadharas head, which he offered to Madhusudhanas feet.

Thaithriya Upanishad states that:

Anganyanyo Devatah:
For that Parabrahmam Sriman Narayana, all the demigods like Shiva, Brahma are like Limbs of the body. Swami stated these pramana and disqualified the saivas verdict on Shiva Parathava and established Vishnu Supremacy.

KURESA VIJAYAM 13 - Bharga Shabdha in Gayathri denotes Shiva

Saivas Paksha:

In the 24 Akshararoopa (lettered) Gayathri Manthra, Bharga Shabdha denotes our Supreme lord Shiva. Hence He is the Paravasthu.

Swami Koorathaazhwans Prathpaksha:

The Bharga: Sabdha in Gayathri Manthra denotes the Tejas of Sriman Narayana residing in the Surya Manadala. This was stated by sage Vyasa and Vishvamithra in Vyakarana Suthra.

The Pramana Chandhogya affirms that:

Lord Sriman Narayana is seen in golden splendour amidst the Solar System, adorned by golden hair with a golden moustache and facial hair to match. From head to toe, he is all glitter like the Yellow metal. The Same thing is reaffirmed by:

Ya EshOntar AdityE hiranmaya purusha: drisyatE Hirnmaya: smashru:hiranya kEsa:AprNakhAt sarva Eva suvarNa:

Dhyeya sada savitr mandala madhyavartI

nArAyaNaH sarasijAsana sanniviSTaH keyUravAn makara kuNDalavAn kirITI hArI hiraNmaya vapuH dhrta zaGkha cakraH
"One should meditate on the form of Lord NArAyaNa situated in the sun globe. He is seated on a lotus, with golden bracelets, crown, shark earrings; he is golden in complexion, and holds the shankha and chakra in his hands." So it is evident that all pramana states : Bharga Shabdha in Gayathri denotes, gold Complexed Thirumenis Tejas of SrimanNarayana. Vyasa Smruthi and ManuVignana which directs the Brahmanas on their Nitya Karmanushtana states that : A man should wake up everyday in the morning by uttering the Hari: nama 7 times. He should say the Govindha: nama 3 times while taking bath. Before Doing the Gayathri Japa, while performing the Achamana, only Vishnus Dwadhasa (12) Namas, starting from Achyuta, Ananatha, Govindha are to be uttered. When Brahmanas start uttering Vedas (Vedhadhyayana), they say Hari: Om in the beginning. After completing any sort of Karma, inorder to eradicate all the Dosha in that Karma, it is uttered as Sri Krishnanusmaranam Param . Since all the 24 letters in Gayathri denotes Sriman Narayana, just taking the literal meaning and asserting that Bharga Shabdha denotes Shiva, is against Vedhas. Mayithravarana Upanishad and Thaitriya also explains that Gayathri Manathra indicates Sriman Narayana. Finally Swami refuted Saivas argument saying,

Hey Poets!! You did not justify your stand on Shiva Parathva by quoting from Shruthi, Smrithi and Sathvika Puranas. You, neither have the knowledge that one Sentence in Sanskrit can denote many meanings nor do you explain the meanings in line with the Context (The Context here is the Bharga Shabdha clearly indicates the Tejas of Sriman Narayana as stated above). So your Argument is baseless and not in line with Vaidhika Pramana.

KURESA VIJAYAM 16 - Vyasa Became a Pillar as he took the Vow

Veda Vyasa proclaimed with his two hands lifted over his head that Sri Mahavishnu is the Supreme Lord. At that time he became motionless like a pillar as he uttered a wrong Pratigna (Pledge). Hence Shiva is the Lord of Universe, claimed the Saivas.

Vyasam Athishtanam..

In order to expound the true connotations of Vedhas, Sriman Narayana instilled His Adhishtana (Powers ) and created Sri Vedha Vyasa. Thats why it is stated as

Vyasaya Vishnu Roopaya .

At the beginning of each Kalpa, Devathas such as Shiva and Brahma are Created by Sriman Narayana and during Pralaya, they are destructed by Sriman Narayana. At that time only Narayana Exixts. This is clearly avowed clearly in upanishads which exclaims.

Ekohavai Narayana Aaseeth Na Brahma Nesaanaha

Mahopanishad Statement:

Narayana ParamBrahma thathvam Narayanap para:

Narayana is the Supreme Brahma. So compiling all the Vedha Vakyas which utters Narayana Parthva, Sri Vedhavyasa stood in the river at Kasi Kshethra raising his hands, Took a Pledge as ..

Sathyam Sathyam puna: sathyam uthdridhya buja muchyathe Vedhasasthrath param naasthi na deivam Kesavath param..

There is no Sasthra superior to Vedhas and likewise there is No Supreme God than Kesava..

When Vyasabagavan did this Prathigna, Nandhi (chariot of Shiva) could not tolerate this truth and started to Torture him due to Nandhis Thamasa Guna. At that time Hanuman (Who is an amsa of Shiva) came to that spot, got furious over this issue and kicked the Nandhi in its face. Nandhis Tooth were shattered.

Then in order to propagate this incident, Hanuman ordered the Vishnu Bhakthas to sculpture an Ox, named Ganga and engrave Hanumans Vigraha in its forehead to depict this fact. This can be seen evidently in Kasi Kshethra even now.

Sri Parasara Baghavan who delivered Sri Vishnu Purana says..

Yadha Sarveshu Vedheshu nasthi Narayanath para: Thadha Sarveshu Manthreshu namanthro Ashthaksharathpara:
As there is no Supreme Lord than Narayana, there is no superior Manthra than Ashtakshra..

Sri Sukamaharishi advices Parikshith that

Alodya sarva sasthrani vicharayasapuna: puna: Idhametham sunishppannam dhyeyo Narayanssadha:

After an exhaustive study of Vedhas many times, it is evident that Sriman Narayana is Lord who is to be meditated as HE is the Karanavasthu (Creator).

Shiva preaches Umadevi at Kasi Kshethra that

Sri Rama Rama ramethiYethath karyam samuchyathe Yathe athastham janakinamam param Brahma vinichitham
Janaki natha Sri Rama is the ParamBrahma and this is stated in Vedhas..

Bagavtha Bidhayana has written in his Bodhayana Vruthi that..

Narayansamo nanyas sarvalokeshuvidhyathe Thasmathapyathigatha kaschit kvapi nasthi kesavath

Sriman Narayana is incomparable and there is no one equal or Supreme to Him. Hence Kesava is the LORD of the Universe.

Manushyanam parovipro vipranam paramoyathi: Brahmesadhi devanam devo Narayana Para: Like Brahmanas who are preeminent among all Humans, Like the Yathis who are the preeminent among the Brahmanas Among the demi Gods such as Brahma and Rudhra, Sriman Narayana is the paramount.

Vibhudeya: parachakra chakrath paratharasshiva: Shivath paratharao Brahma Brahmana paramo Hari:
Indra is greatest among devas, Shiva is superior than him,

Brahma surpases shiva and Hari is the superlative.

Vishnu paramayithyathyaru sobhahuvidhojagu: Narayana: paramithi yajurvedhe cha padhyathe Vasudeva: parayithi samavedhechageeyathe Narayana: para bagavan mahopanishathismruthe
Rg Vedha has proclaimed Vishnu as the Paradeva in many instances Yajur vedha reads that Narayana as the Supreme Vasudevas greatness is written as poem in Samavedha Narayanas Para Brahmathvam is insisted many times in Mahopanishad.

If it is true that Vyasas hands are freezed as he uttered Vishuns Parathva, All the devas including Shivas hands should also got Freezed as they have uttered the same in many prmanas as highlighted above. Thus Swami refuted the Saivas stance.
KURESA VIJAYAM 3 - LORD MAHAVISHNU RECEIVED CHAKRA FROM SIVA MOHANA SASTRA, WHICH WAS AUTHORED BY SIVA, SAYS THAT LORD VISHNU PRAYED SIVA TO GET CHAKRA, TO KILL THE DEMON CALLED JALANDRASURA, QUOTING THIS VERSE, SAIVAS CLAIMED SIVA IS THE SUPREME LORD. SWAMI KOORATHAZHWANS EXPLANATION: THE FOLLOWING VERSE FROM VARIOUS PRAMANAS CLEARLY STATES THAT SRI LAKSHMINATHA[MAHA VISHNU]IS THE ONE AND ONLY SUPREME GOD WHO HOLDS THE CHAKRA AND SHANKA . IN IN IN IN RIG VEDA EIGHTH ASHTAGA,THIRD ADHYAYA,THIRD VARGA THE SAME RIG VEDA THIRD ASHTAGA, SEVENTH ADHYAYA, EIGHT VARGA. YAJUR VEDA FIRST PRASNA,ELEVENTH VARGA ADHARVANA VEDA, UTHTHARA RK, NINTH ADYAYA

IN BAGAVATHA PURANA, VISHNU PURANA, VARAHA PURANA. IN RAMAYANA (WHEN MANDOTHARI ADVISING RAVANA), IT IS CLEARLY STATED THAT VISHNU IS ETERNALLY POSSESSING CHAKRA AND SANKHA AND DID NOT RECEIVE FROM ANYONE. IF THAT IS THE CASE, IT IS AGAINST THE PRAMANA, SRUTHI, SMRUTHI, PURANA AND PANCHARATHRA AGAMA TO MENTION THAT VISHNU, THE CREATOR OF BRAHMA HAS PRAYED HIS GRANDSON TO OBTAIN CHAKRA TO KILL THE DEMON JALANDRASURA. IN AGASTYA SAMHITAS RUDRA GEETHA SIVA SAYS, AS ORDERED BY BRAHMA, I PRAYED TO THE KING OF WEAPON CHAKRATHZHWAN AND OBTAINED TRISHUL. WITH THIS TRISHUL, I AM DOING THE SAMHARA AT THE END OF EACH KALPA . IN SUCH A CASE HOW ONE CAN CLAIM THAT LORD VISHNU ASKED SIVA FOR WEAPON. HENCE THIS CLAIM IS NULLIFIED.. THE STORY OF AMBAREESHA STATES: KING AMBAREESHA IS A ARDENT VISHNU BHAKTHA. ON ONE DVADHASI DAY, WHEN KING AMBAREESHA IS READY TO DO DVADHASI PARANA (BREAKING EKADASI FAST), A SAINT NAMED DURVASA CAME TO HIS ASHRAM. KING PROSTRATED TO THE SAINT AND REQUESTED THE SAINT TO DO THE DVADHASI PARANA WITH HIM. DURVASA TOLD HIM THAT HE WILL CERTAINLY JOIN HIM AFTER THE BATH. HE WENT TO THE RIVER TO TAKE BATH. AS THE TIME STIPULATED IN THE PRAMANA TO DO THE PARANA IS FINISHING SOON, THE KNG WAS WORRIED AS DURVASA DID NOT TURN UP FROM THE RIVER. SO THE KING DRANK LORDS SRI PADHA THEERTA (HOLY WATER), THINKING THAT IT WOULD NOT ONLY SATISFY THE RULES OF PARANA, BUT ALSO PREVENT HIM FROM THE APACHARA OF NOT WATING FOR THE ATHITHI(GUEST)DURVASA. DURVASA CAME FROM HIS BATH AND FROM HIS SUPREME POWERS, REALISED THAT THE KING HAS DRANK WATER AND CONCLUDED HIS PARANA. HE WAS FURIOUS AGAINST THE KING AND WAS ABOUT TO CURSE THE KING WITH A SAPHA.SEEING THIS INCIDENT, LORD VISHNUS CHAKRA (WHICH WAS ACTING AS THE KINGS PROTECTOR), CHASED THE SAINT. THE SAINT WENT TO SATHYA LOKA AND SOUGHT CHATURMUKHA BRAHMAS REFUGE.BRAHMA PROMPTLY REJECTED HIM SAYING THAT IT WOULD AFFECT HIMSELF, IF HE PROTECTS DURVASA. THEN DURVASA DASHED TO KAILASA TO SEEK SIVAS PROTECTION. SIVA ORDERED DURVASA TO SEEK THE REFUGE OF LORD VISHNU AS NO ONE CAN CONTROL VISHNUS CHAKRA. FINALLY DURVASA WENT TO LORD VISHNU WHO ORDERED HIM TO SEEK APOLOGY FROM KING AMBHAREESHA. SWAMI KOORATHAZHWAN ASKED THE SAIVAS IN THE COURT THAT IF THE ABOVE MENTIONED STORY SAYS SO, IS IT NOT ABSURD TO SAY THAT LORS VISHNU PRAYED TO SIVA TO OBTAIN THE CHAKRA.IF THATS TRUE, WHY CANNOT SIVA CONTROL THE CHAKRA AND SAVE DURVAS?? PLEASE THINK!! SWAMI KOORATHAZWAN ADDED FURTHER MORE, Lord Krishna expuled his Chakra to Cut-off the 1000 hands of Banasura!! (Lord Krishnas Grandson is called Anirudha. He loved the daughter (usha) OF an asura called Banasura. Usha also loved him. Banasura did not like that and he put both of them in House Arrest.

Banasura is also a siva baktha. SIVA WAS OVERWHELMED BY HIS BAKTHI AND STOOD AS A guard IN FRONT OF BANASURAS PALACE. HEARING THE NEWS OF HOUSE ARREST OF HIS GRANDSON, LORD KRISHNA WENT TO FIGHT WITH BANASURA. LORD SIVA ALONG WITH KARTHIKEYA, GANESHA, MODI AND AGNIDEVA STOOD IN FRONT OF LORD KRISHNA TO FIGHT WITH HIM. THEY ALL CANNOT FACE THE SEVERITY OF LORDS CHAKRA AND RAN AWAY.) IF IT IS TRUE THAT SIVA HAS GIVEN THE CHAKRA TO THIRUMAL, WHY SHOULD HE RUN AWAY FROM THE CHAKRA WITH HIS FAMILY?? SWAMI TOLD THAT PLEASE GET CLARIFIED AFTER READING THIS STORY FROM SAGE SUKAS BHAGAVATHA PURANA. FINALLY SWAMI CONCLUDED SAYING SO, FOLLOWING LORD NARAYANAS ORDER, SIVA CREATED THE MOHANA SASTRA TO KILL THE DEMONS. THERE ARE SOME STORIES MENTIONED IN THAT SASTRA SUCH AS ONE MENTIONED ABOVE (THAT SIVA GAVE CHAKRA TO VISHNU). THESE STORIES WILL BE RECOGNISED ONLY BY PEOPLE WITH ThAMO GUNA, DEMONS AND RAKSHASAS. THE SATVIC PEOPLE, WHO HAVE MASTERED THE VEDA AND OTHER PRAMANA, WILL NOT RECOGNISE THESE STORIES. HAVING KNOWN THIS, SIVA HAS PRAYED TO LORD SAYING THAT BY CREATING THESE SASTRAS WHICH ARE NOT AUTHENTIC, AM DOING A GREAT APACHARA. SO PLEASE SAVE ME FROM THAT . THE LORD WHO IS ALL MERCIFUL, PREACHED THARAKA BRAHMA MANTHRA TO SIVA. HE ALSO UTTERED THAT OF ALL MY BAKTHA, YOU ARE THE PRIME. SO DONT GET DEJECTED. SO PLEASE BE AWARE THAT VISHNU IS ALL POWERFUL AND HE CREATES THESE TYPES OF MAYA, WHICH COULD CAUSE AGNYANA (ignorance) EVEN TO DEVATHAS SUCH AS BRAHMA, SIVA AND INDHRA. SWAMI CONCLUDED SAYING THAT, IT IS EVIDENT THAT THE STORY SAYING SIVA GAVE CHAKRA TO VISHNU IS AN ILLUSION CAUSED BY MOHANA SASTRA AND NOT A TRUE STORY.

On this series of debate, next we shall discuss about yet another proclamation by Saiva on the Topic Yama Samhara . Saivas Statement: Mrikandu Munivar worshipped Shiva and sought from him the boon of begetting a son. The noose landed around the Shivalingam, and out of it, Shiva emerged in all his fury, and kicked Yama and killed

Death itself. He then revived him, under the condition that the devout youth would live for ever. Saivas Claimed that as Shiva killed the death King Yama, he is the Supreme Lord.

Swami Koorathaazwan discarded: The Katha Upanishad (1.2.25) says: yasya brahma ca kshatram caubhe bhavatah odanahmrityur yasyopasecanamka ittha veda yatra sah Lord Sriman Narayana for whom the entire universe consisting of all forms of Movable (Brahma) and immovable (Kshatra) are food (odanam) and (God of) Death is pickle (upasechanam) to enjoy dinner says Kathopanishad. We use pickle as the side dish and finish our main course and then eat the pickle to finish the dinner. The same way, Lord Sriman Narayana uses the Samhara Devatha Shiva to destroy the whole world during Pralaya and finally swallow him too. Mahopanishad proclaims :Ekohaavai Narayana Aaseeth. Na Brahmaneshano.....Na nakshathrani, na suryo, na chandrama. Swami further explained the reason for Markandeyas Chiranjeevi status: The Pramana goes by these verse: Aaradhyo Bagavan Vishnu Ekaeva MayachyuthaKesavaa dharyathe jagath sthavara jangamamMukthi bukthi pradhadheva svathaeva purushothama.. Vishnu is the only diety, worshiped by me. All the sentient and Non-sentient beings in this world are sustained by Kesava. Purushothama is the only Diety who grants us all the wishes on this world and grants us the Eternal World Srivaikuntam. It is also stated that, Shiva brought Markandeya to Hrishikesa who fulfils all the desireOf HIS devotees, and made markandeya to prostrate before Lord Vishnu and obtained Chiranjeevi Status and Vishnu Bhakthi. Thus Swami refuted Shiva Parathva and Reinstated Vishnu Parathva in the Chola Kins Court. KURESA VIJAYAM 16 - Vyasa Became a Pillar as he took the Vow Veda Vyasa proclaimed with his two hands lifted over his head that Sri Mahavishnu is the Supreme Lord.

Mahopanishad Statement: Narayana ParamBrahma thathvam Narayanap para: Narayana is the Supreme Brahma. Yadha Sarveshu Vedheshu nasthi Narayanath para: Thadha Sarveshu Manthreshu namanthro Ashthaksharathpara: As there is no Supreme Lord than Narayana, there is no superior Manthra than Ashtakshra.. Sri Sukamaharishi advices Parikshith that Alodya sarva sasthrani vicharayasapuna: puna: Idhametham sunishppannam dhyeyo Narayanssadha: After an exhaustive study of Vedhas many times, it is evident that

Sriman Narayana is Lord who is to be meditated as HE is the Karanavasthu (Creator). Shiva preaches Umadevi at Kasi Kshethra that Sri Rama Rama ramethiYethath karyam samuchyathe Yathe athastham janakinamam param Brahma vinichitham Janaki natha Sri Rama is the ParamBrahma and this is stated in Vedhas.. Bagavtha Bidhayana has written in his Bodhayana Vruthi that.. Narayansamo nanyas sarvalokeshuvidhyathe Thasmathapyathigatha kaschit kvapi nasthi kesavath Sriman Narayana is incomparable and there is no one equal or Supreme to Him. Vibhudeya: parachakra chakrath paratharasshiva: Shivath paratharao Brahma Brahmana paramo Hari: Indra is greatest among devas, Shiva is superior than him, Brahma surpases shiva and Hari is the superlative. Vishnu paramayithyathyaru sobhahuvidhojagu: Narayana: paramithi yajurvedhe cha padhyathe Vasudeva: parayithi samavedhechageeyathe Narayana: para bagavan mahopanishathismruthe Rg Vedha has proclaimed Vishnu as the Paradeva in many instances Yajur vedha reads that Narayana as the Supreme Vasudevas greatness is written as poem in Samavedha Narayanas Para Brahmathvam is insisted many times in Mahopanishad. If it is true that Vyasas hands are freezed as he uttered Vishuns Parathva, All the devas including Shivas hands should also got Freezed as they have uttered the same in many prmanas as highlighted above. Thus Swami refuted the Saivas stance. KURESA VIJAYAM 12 - Shiva worshiped by Majority of the people Swami Nammazhwar who is the paduka of Sriman Narayana having Sri Mahalakshmi and kowsthupa on his chest and Ethiraja who worships the lotus feet of Nammazhwar and that Ramanujas prime sishya Koorathipathy [leader of Kooram] was propagating Sriman Narayana parathva to the poets and people Assembled in chozha kings palace in the presence of king. The Saiva Pandits who were hearing Swami Koorathazhwans verse, yelled at

azhwan saying the following: Shiva who adorns Nagabharana [jewels made of serpant] on his neck, is worshiped by many people in the earth. Hence Shiva is supreme than any other God. Koorathazhwans melliflouous reply: Sriman Narayana who holds the Panch ayudha in his four hands, is worshiped by the four faced Brahma, three eyed Shiva, King of Demigod - Indra, Maharishis, Manu Manthatha and many others. He stated this with the following authentic quotes . In Padma purana uthara Khanda, Shiva tells to parvathi kailasa sikare ramye vishnum aarathye sankaram I am happy in this Kailasa mountain praying Sri Mahavishnu, to get relieved from this duty of Samhara and attain the eternal abode. When krishna went to kailasa to see Shiva , Shiva seated krishna in his simhasana and prayed him as stated in Bagavath Purana Adhya mey makuta roodathvam thath padambujam hare Hey Hari Bagvan, Please embellish me by placing your two lotus feet on my head. Narayan Upanishad points out clearly that Narayanath brahma jaayathe Narayanath rudhro jaayathe Brahma emerged from Sriman Narayana and from Narayana who has Brahma as His Sarira, emerged Rudra. Thus various Sasthras and sruthis clearly states that Brahma transpired from Narayanas Nabhi and from that Brahmas eyebrow emerged Rudhra, This being the fact, it is against the Sruthis to claim that Shiva is supreme as he is worshipped by the Majority of people replied Swami Koorathazhwan. KURESA VIJAYAM 25 - Narayana is not worshipped as a Prime Diety in Shankara Narayana Moorthy Upon seeing that all the Proclamations made by the Saivaites in the Chola Kings court, are being tarnished one by one with authentic explanations from Vedas, Vedanthas, Ithihasa, Purana, smrithis etc..by Swami Koorathawan, the Saivaites were exasperated and flabbergasted. Finally they put their last argument in the court saying that:

Vishnu is part of Shivas body in Shankara Narayana Form. In that form too, Vishnu is not prayed as the Prime deity. This clearly reveals that Shiva is the Supreme Lord.

Swami Koorathazwan with his ever lasting cool and calm nature replied thus:

In Mahabharata-karna Parva, it is stated

vishnur aatma bhagavatha: bhavasya amithathejasaa

As lord Vishnu is the Antaryami (Ineer Dweller) of the bright looked Shiva, he was able to fight with his bow and arrow and did the tripura samhara. Taitriya Upanishad Says

Angaananyaa devataa:..

Brahma, Rudra and other devataas are like the Limbs and Foot in Vishnus divine body.

The same connotations are also stated in Atharvasiras, Padma Purana and Vishnu Purana. The following Purusha Sooktha verse is very popular:

Antharbahischa tatsarvam vyaapya Narayanasthitha:

It is also elaborated in previous arguments that at the end of each kalpa, all the entities including the demigods such as Brahma, Shiva, Indra etc.. are destroyed by Lord Vishnu and during Srushti, they are once again created by Sriman Narayana.

With all these pramanas expounding that all deities are part of Sriman Narayana, it is illogical to claim Shiva parathva.

The explanation for the Shankara Narayana story is given herewith:

In the puranic age, one staunch Vishnu baktha set his journey to Prostrate Sri Renganatha. On his way he was completely exhausted and was terribly hungry. He found a temple nearby and decided to cook the food inside the temple and do the Aradhana to Perumal before consuming it. To his surprise, he found that to be a Shivalaya.

Being a true Vaishnava, his concise did not allow him to cook there and he came out. But he fainted due to starvation. At that juncture, Sriman Narayana appeared in disguise in front of the baktha and offered help. The Baktha explained the he could not cook in Shivalaya. Lord Vishnu explained that it is not a Shiva temple but the deity inside is Vishnu.

He then took the Baktha inside the sanctum and showed His true form with Sanka and Chakra as Vishnu is the antaryami of Shiva. Thus the Shankara Narayan Moorthy came to existence.

This is only a leela performed by Lord with His baktha which the Saivaites took in their favour.

Finally the trounced Saivaites and the King, not able to accept the true fact and their defeat, Ordered to tweak away Swamis eyes. All compassionate Swamy was not at all angry with those dim-witted people in the court, even at that juncture. Instead he plugged his eyes himself in order not to get an Abagavthas contact.

KURESA VIJAYAM 24 - Namaka & Samaka verse in Vedha expounds Shiva Parthva

The Namaka, Samaka and Rudra part of Vedas praise Shivas supremacy. Hence He is the ParaBrahma claimed the saivaites.

Swami Koorathazahwan refuted thier statement sequentially quoting various pramanas:

First:

Arana says thus:

Yathoornanaabhis srujathe gruhnadesa, thathaaprithivyaa mokshadayas samvanthi Yosowchayidhovishnus sathva gunappraneetho bhavath thasyanabher ajothmasvayambhoo: Thathaa thasya ruvon tharaalaaththa moorudhra: pradhurabhavath

Like the spider, which creates the web from its body and then again retrieves it back, The Parabrahma Mahavishnu, creates this Universe and its beings. He is Satvic in nature. From that Mahavishnus lotus belly, Rajasic Brahma emerged. From that Brahmas eyebrow, the Tamasic Shiva was born.

Second:

The Shruthi vakya which reveals that Shiva and eleven Rudras emerged from Brahma

Saprajapathireka: pushkaparne samabhavath lalaatathkrodhajo rudra: Thraiyaksha: kantaparasu: - varajjanathsambhavath sarojaayatha, Indhro varuna: somo rudra: parjanyoyama: brahmana: puthraya

jyeshtaya shreshtaya puthraya rudraya

That Brahma was born from (Vishnus) Nabhikamala. From Him emerged the Rudra-Shiva, Devas such as Varusha, Indra, Varuna, Soma, 11Rudras, parjanya, yama etc were born.

Third

Another Shruthi vakya explaining that Rudra and Ekadasa Rudra were born from Vishnu:

Athapurushohavai Narayanassokaamaya thaprajas srujeyethi Narayanaath Brahma Jayathe, Narayanath Rudhro jayathe Narayanaath indrojayathe Narayanaath dvadhasaadhithyaa Rudhraa: vasava: rushaya: prajapathayascha poorve devaassamuthpadhyanthe

From the supreme Lord Sriman Narayana, Brahma, Rudhra, Indra, Dvadhasaadhithya, Ekadasa Rudra, Astavasus, Saptharishis Navaprajapathis etc were born. As it is clearly stated that both Rudra and Ekadasa rudras were born from Narayana,

the Saivaites argument that only 11 Rudras emerged from Narayana not shiva, was disqualified.

Fourth:

Sathapatha Braahmana Shruthi expounds:

Abhoothvaidham prathishtethyaarabyu thanaanjchaprajapathi:samvathsaraayatheekshitha: bhoothanamprathi samvathsara ushsire Thosinjath samvathsaree kumaarojayatha sorotheeththam Prajapathirabhraveeth kumara: kimrotheeshithi yacchramaaththapa

Bhrahma was in Dheeksha for one year. He made ushas pregnant and in a year, a son was born. That boy cried when he was born. Brahma enquired the child why he cried. The little child said that am covered up with lots of sin. He then prayed Brahma to grant him with a name such that all his sins are tarnished. Brahma exclaimed! Let you become pure! You be granted the 7 names Rudra, Bhava, Sarva, Isana, Pathi, Bheema & Ugra. So its evident that Rudhra was born.

Fifth:

Further Vedantha exclaims that whoever is the cause of the creation, sustenance and destruction of this world and one does not perish is the Parabrahmam.

The following verse from Angiras Upanishad clearly states:

Ekohavai Narayana Aaseeth- Nabrahmaanasankara: samunirbhook vaasama chithyath Thathethyaanaajjaayanthe visvo Hiranyagarbhogni yma varunarudrendraa:

Only Sriman Narayana exists during the mahapralaya neither Brahma, nor shiva nor rishis exist. All these entities were later born due to His sankalpa.

Sixth:

Vishnu Purana verse:

Brukutee kutilaath thaysalalaataath krodhaja: pithu: samuthbannastha dhaarudhromadyaan haarkkasamaprabha:

Brahma created the Sanakadhi brothers and ordered them to do the job of creation which they rejected. Then he got furious over them and his eyes became red. During that time Shiva came out from Brsahmas Eyebrow.

Lastly:

As there is countless pramanas to disprove Shiva parathva and to establish Sriman Narayana Parrathva, Swami koorathazwan concluded his statement quoting a beautiful verse from Harivamsa:

Kaithi Brahmano nama EEsohamsarva dehinaam Aavaanthavaange sambhoothou thasmaath kesavanamavaan

These verse were told by Shiva himself to Krishna, explaining the meaning of the name Kesava

Ka denotes Brahma and Esa denotes Shiva. We both (Shiva and Brahma) emerged from your (Kannans) Divine body and hence Kannan (Narayanan) attained the Kesava nama.

All the above pramana including Shivas own words says that Rudra and Brahma were born from Sriman Narayana. This being the truth, is it not ridiculous to say Shiva is supreme lord?? Concluded swami.

KURESA VIJAYAM 23 - Shiva grants Gnana and Moksha Our Handsome Lord Shiva, with his blue neck and Long hair, is the only Lord who can bless his devotees with Knowledge and Liberation (Gnana & Moksha). Hence He is the supreme lord claimed the siavaites in King Cholas court.

Kuresas humble reply:

Sriman Narayana preached Tharaga Brahma manthra to Shiva. He also granted Shiva a boon that whoever worship Shiva will attain knowledge.

Shiva with the blessings of Vishnu, created the Mohana Sastra and 28 Saiva Agamas. He also acquired the Rama tharaka Manthra from Vishnu.

Vishnu also granted Shiva, with the Punya Kshethra Kasi where the Holy river ganges flow through. Further Vishnu granted a boon that, whoever dies in Kasi Kshethra, shall attain the highest abode.

Shiva performed the Sarvametha Yaga towards Vishnu and Lord Vishnu pleased by that yaga appeared before shiva and granted him the following: Let he possess great knowledge, let him be omnipresent and let him attain the name Mahadeva.

Due to the immense empathy of Lord Vishnu, Shiva obtained all these boons and become the benefactor Of Knowledge.

Swami further explained that:

After seeing the extinction of Hiranya, Hiranyakasipu, Ravana et al, the ardent Shiva Baktha and the furious demon Gantakarna , came to the conclusion that nothing can stop him from being killed.

Ghantakarna prayed to Shiva for salvation. Shiva advised that since only Vishnu can grant salvation, he should worship Vishnu and proceed to Dwaraka to meet him. Ghantakarna explained that the hunt is to conduct a Vishnu Pooja (Worship of Vishnu). Then he start meditation. Pleased by his devotion, Krishna reveals his true form in the minds of meditating devote. Ghantakarna was happy by the vision of Vishnu .Upon opening his eyes, he saw Vishnu standing in front of him exactly as they had seen him during meditation.
Ghantakarna offered Krishna a piece of flesh from the fresh dead body of a brahmin, saying that, it is the best food he can ever offer. Krishna says he is pleased with his devotion, but politely refuses the offering. He converts the Ghantakarna to divine bodies and sends them to heaven.

The Asura told krishna that when he prayed to Lord Shiva to grant him moksha, the three eyed siva informed himOnly Lord Vishnu can Grant Mukthi to anyone. There is no doubt about that. So go to see Krishna who is the incarnation of Vishnu and plead before Him for Moksha.

Hence I came here.

This being the truth its absurd to tell Shiva can give highest abode.

KURESA VIJAYAM 20 - Vishnu upheld Shiva, taking a Form of Rishaba (Bull)

When Shiva was in Thripura Samhara, Vishnu upheld Shiva taking a Bulls Form. Hence Lord Shiva is superior said saivas

Swami Kooresa Said, During the Tripura Samhara.

When Shiva was fighting with the demons, the entire weight rested on one side of the chariot [earth] which fell down in to the athala loka. (Refer to Thripura Samhara Posting for details) Lord Vishnu took the shape of ox [rishaba] and lifted the earth to its position.

In order to keep up HIS promise and the boon given to Shiva, Lord Vishnulowered Himself and took the form of a Rishaba and Upheld Shiva firmly. This enabled shiva, to fight against the Three demons. Finally Lord Vishnu who has positioned himself in the tip of the arrow of Shivas bow, burnt the cruel demons and the tripura (three worlds).

Further swami explained that the above mentioned pramana are stated in Seventh scanto of Sri Baghavatha purana, In Skantha purana - Saptha skantha (seventh canto) In Hari Vamsa, Naaratheeya and Uththara koorma.

Moreover in mahabharata-karna parva, it is stated

Vishnurathma bagavatha: Bhavasya amithathejasa: Thasmaththanurjya Samsparsam savishe hemhesvara

As lord vishnu was the antaryami to the bright looked Shiva, he was able to fight with his bow and arrow and did the tripura samhara.

Moreover.. During the Varaha Avathar, Lord Vishnu took the Varaha form and uplifted the whole earth which was hid by Hiranyaksha in to the sea. One has to say Parathva to the whole world as the World was upheld by Vishnu. Lord Vishnu due to His Compassionate nature, protects all the human beings and in particular His devotees by lowering Himself down to earth. So it is absurd to tell Shiva parathva for this trivial reason.

KURESA VIJAYAM 19 - Shiva Adorns Brahmas Kapala as a Garland

At the end of each Kalpa, numerous Brahmas are destroyed. Making these (Brahmas) heads as garland, our Uma devis better half adorns that around his neck. Hence our LORD Shiva is the one and only God claimed the

That Brahma alone emerged from Lotus flower of Lord Vishnu. From that Brahma, Rudra was born. All the devas including Indra, Varuna, Soma, Rudras, Parjanya, yama etc.. were born.

Athapurushohavai Narayanassokamaya thaprajaas srujeyethi, Naryanath Brahma jayathe, Narayanath Rudro jayathe Narayanath Indro jayathe, Narayanath dvadasaadhithya jayathe Rudra vasava: rushya: prajapathyaccha poorve deva samudhpadhyanthe

From that Sriman Narayana, Brahma, Rudra, Indra, 12 Adithyas, 11 Rudra, 8vasus, 7 Rishis, 9 Prajapathis et all devas were born. This apparently ruins the Saivas attempt to prove that, the word Rudra mentioned in this verse is Ekadasa Rudras and notShiva. But the above verse clearly states that Shiva who is called rudra emerged from Narayana and 11 Rudras also emerged from HIM.

Vishnu obtained the name HARI as He is the rationale behind the Samhara of Shiva and Brahma at the end of each Kalpa. To denote this, Before and after Veda Adhyayana the adhyapaka always starts with Harih: Om!

Sri Vyasa Says thus..

Brahmaana mindram rudrancha yamam varunamevacha nigrahaya harathe yasmath thasmath thariri hochyathe

As Lord Vishnu show Nigraha and destroys Brahma, Indra, Rudra, Yama, Varuna HE is entitled as HARI: ..

Moreover if it is veritable that Rudra kills Brahma and adorns his kapala, It will disprove the following Veda Vakya which says that at the end of each kapla neither Brahma exists nor Shiva. Only Narayana alone exists. So the Saivas Paksha is unacceptable.

Nabrahma nesana:.

Ramopanishads verse:

Kathayathi bagavani haanthyakale bhavavhayadhara kamprapothamithi

These verse of Rama tharaka manthra was recommended by Lord Vishnu to Shiva to get rid of the Brahma Kapala Shapa (curse) that Shiva acquired after plugging his father Brahmas Head.

So the real fact is that only Shiva got the Brahma Kapal Curse which was exterminated by Sriman Narayana and Saivas claim that Rudra adorns Brahmas Kapala is a buzz.. Concluded Swami Koorathazwan.

KURESA VIJAYAM 18 - Shiva is void of Birth and Death

Saiva Paksha:

Our Lord Shiva, who has Trishool in his hand is not a Nitya Samasari and is beyond Birth and Death. Hence He is the ruler of the world.

Swami Koorathazwans Prathipaksha:

Shiva has Birth:

Narayanath brahma jaayathe Narayanath rudro jaayathe

Brahma is created by Narayana. From that Narayana, who possess Brahma as his sarira (body), Rudra has emerged Narayana Upanishath.

Atha Purushohavai Narayanas sosya kama manasathyayi thathasyathya Namaseeth thasya lalaate svetham abhavath svethath budhbudh abhavath Bhudhbhudhath thraiyaksha soolapaani:purushojayathyi dhikruthampadma kalpe -

Lord Vishnu discharged sweat from His forehead. From that sweat, a bubble appeared. Shiva emerged from that bubble pronounce the pramana.

Sathapathabrahmana shruthi proclaims:

Abhuthva idham prathishtetharabhyabhu dhanachaprajapathi:- samvathsaraya dhikshitha: bhuthanamprathi: - grahapathiraaseeth ushapathneeyathigamukthva Bhuthanam prathisamvathsara ushasirethosinchat samvathsare kumarojayathe

Shiva has death :

Ekohaavai Narayana Aaseeth. Na Brahmaneshano..... Na nakshathrani, na suryo, na chandrama.

Once (During Pralaya), there existed only Sriman Narayana. Neither Brahma nor Shiva existed. There was no Stars or Moon. Goes the verse. This clearly states that, during MahaPralaya only Sriman Narayana Exists.

Another Pramana,

Thasyenthraavam reeroopenaa dhnurjaamaaseen nathsvayam thadhuraathidh: mathrasya Sirasath pa devaasabravargobhavath rudrasya surapradhithathaadhi

To get victory over Asuras & demons, all the devas, with Shiva as their chief priest, did a Yaga towards Lord Vishnu to get Thejas & Dhanus (bow). Due to Lord Vishnus prasadha, a Bow emerged from the yaga with Vishnus tejas. Shiva took the tejas that emerged from the yaga without distributing to the other devas.

Shiva threatened the hopeless devas (who were already in panic), with his most powerful bow. Seeing this egoistic nature of shiva, the tejas diverged from Shiva for : Not sharing the tejas obtained from the yaga with other devas Humiliating the devas Self Praising and boasting about his own valiance.

Shiva was in deep distress, as the tejas from the bow left him. He was standing with the string of the bow supported by his jaw. Devas took this right opportunity to kill the griefstricken shiva. They requested Indra to take the form of a termite and made him gnaw the string. The string of the bow, which was cut by Indra, sliced Shivas head thus killing Shiva. Parvathidevi saw this and immediately prayed to Lord to reinstate her Husband. The ever empathetic Lord, granted a new head and made him alive.

These are some of the instance asnhighlighted in Vedhas and puranas . Numerous other Pramanas Mahabharataa, Sri Vishnu Purana, Srmad Bagavatha, Padma purana, Vamana purana clearly depicts that Shiva has birth, death and re-birth. Hence yelling that Shiva do not have Birth/Death is against Vedas and Vaidhika Sastras!! Concluded Kuresa.

KURESA VIJAYAM 15 - Lord Vishnu Worshipping Shiva during his Dasavathara

Saivas claim:

Saiva pandits said to azhwan that your most respected Narayana has taken Ten Avathars and in those Avathars, he performed pooja to our Lord Shiva. Due to our Lords mercy, Vishnu has attained many benifits and enjoyed. Hence we claim that Lord Shiva is Brahmam.

Contemplating Lord Krishna in his Heart, Swami Koorathazwan explained as follows:

In Puranic age, whenever there is domination by Demons and Asuras, Demi Gods like Brahma, Shiva, Indra and Rishis took shelter and Prayed to Sriman Narayana in his Ksheerabdhi [milky ocean]. They requested Lord Vishnu to rescue them by destroying the Dhushtas and protect the world and establish Dharma firmly. This is stated in Rk Vedas eighth Astakas Seventh Adhyaya tenth Varga.

Lakshminatha, pleased by their prayers accepted their request and took many Avathars at various periods and situations with his suddha sankalpa,

He took various avatars Such as Matsya,. Koorma, Varaha, Simha .Vamanan, Parasurama, Rama, Balarama, Krishna , Kalki ,etc

Azhwan further exclaimed that Lord Vishnu blessed Shiva and made the people in the world worship Shiva. Claiming Vishnu worshiped Shiva in His Avathars is against Sastras and Truth. If it is said in some purana that Lord Vishnu prayed Shiva, it is just to make Mohana Sastras true. Shiva made Mohana Sastra with twentyeight aagamas as ordered by Vishnu. Upon request from Shiva to make the Mohana Sastra popular, Vedavyasa who is a Apara Avathara of Lord Vishnu, created these Thamasa Guna Pramanas. These are not authentic Pramana and are not inline with Vedas /Vaideeha Sastras.

This is evident from Saatviga Puranas brought out by the same Vedavyasa, such as Sri Vishnu Purana, Padma Purana, Vamana Purana, Srimad Bhagavatha Purana and Hari Vamsam.

Swami further illustrated this few quotes from Pramana:

When Krishna went to Kailash, Shiva seated him on his Simhasana and worshiped him. He made Prostration such that Krishnas Feet touch his head,

Adyame makutaarudam thvath paadhaabjayugam hare

as stated in Srimad Bhagavatha purana

In Nrusimha Avathar when Shiva took the form of Sharaba, to kill Nrusimha, Nrusimha tore Sharaba into two halves as he tore hiranyagasibu.

Hanthumapyaaga tham rowtharam sarabham Narakesari, Nakair vidhaarayamasa hiranyakasipum yatha..

This is stated in thaithriya and Garuda Purana.

Thus Swami discarded Saivas argument and ascertained that Tejasvi Sriman Narayana is the Paravasthu.

KURESA VIJAYAM 14 - Shiva Bestows Ashta Aishwarya to his devotees

Saiva pandits claim:

Lord Shiva bestows a person with the eight kinds of Wealth (Asta Aishwarya). These are Anima, Mahima, Lakima, Karima Esitvam, Vasithvam, Prapti and Prakamyam. Hence He is Supreme.

Swami Kurathazwans disagreement of the above statement:

Lord Shiva grants Swarga Loka (Heaven) to his devotees after death. Whereas, those who prey Sriman Narayana with pure devotion, will get rid of this sorrowful worldly pleasures and attain the highest abode Paramapadham to enjoy immense Bliss. They will not have any re-birth (Na cha Punaravarthathe..)

The wealth and leelas of inept Shiva will get vanished during Pralaya but Vishnus Paramapada [Sri Vaikunda] is undestroyable and stays forever [nithyathva]. During the Mahapralaya, four headed Brahma, Three eyed Shiva and Indradhi devas will be vanished along with their worlds.

Harivamsa of Mahabharatha states thus : Ghantakarna prayed Shiva for salvation. Siva advised that since only Vishnu can grant salvation, they should worship Vishnu and proceed to Dwaraka to meet him. Ghantakarna explained that the hunt is to conduct a Vishnu Pooja (Worship of Vishnu). Then he start meditation. Pleased by his devotion, Krishna reveals his true form in the minds of these two meditating devotees. The Ghantakarna was happy by the vision of Vishnu .Upon opening his eyes, he saw Vishnu standing in front of him exactly as they had seen him during meditation.
Ghantakarna offered Krishna a piece of flesh from the fresh dead body of a brahmin, saying that that is the best food. Krishna says he is pleased with their devotion, but politely refuses the offering.

Hence we came here. This being the truth its absurd to tell Shiva can give highest abode.

Inaddition, Lord Mahavishnu who is also the granter of Wordly Pleasures (Iha Loka Ishwarya) to those who prayed him viz. Young baktha duruva , famous Vibeeshana and Chakravarthi Mahabali are a few to be worth mentioning here.

Akasaath pathitham thoyam yada gacchathi sagaram sarva deva namaskaraha kesavam prathi gacchathi

Like the rain water which falls on ground and flows to the Ocean, all the Prayers offered to other dieties, goes to the Lotus of kesava.

All the Sastras proclaim that.

Whatever prostration and prayers offered to Lord Brahma, Lord Shiva , Lord Indra et all, reach Lord Vishnu who is residing in these Demi Gods as Antharyami. Lord Vishnu who is residing in all the atmas is the giver of all the Materialistic Worldly pleasures to the people who prays to these Demi Gods.

Koorathazhwan explained in detail giving apt quotes from Pramana and nullified the Saiva Pandits claim.

KURESA VIJAYAM 6 - SARABHA SIMHAM

NOW WE DISCUSS ABOUT SARABHA NRUSIMHA EVENT UNDER THE TOPIC KOORESA VIJAYAM.

SAIVA PANDITS CLAIM:

NRUSIMHA WITH GREAT ANGER,KILLED HIRANYAKASIPU FOR HIS APACHARAMS PRAHLATHAN]. LORD SHIVA DEFEATED FORM OF SARABHA. HENCE, SHIVA IS MADE BY SAIVA PANDITS.

THE ASURA KING [CRUALITY COMMITED TO NARASIMHA BY TAKING THE PARAVASTHU WAS THE CLAIM

KOORATHAZHWARS ARGUEMENT:

HIRANYAKASIPU PEFORMED SEVERE TAPAS TOWARDS LORD BRAHMA. BRAHMA WAS PLEASED AND APPEARED BEFORE HIM. HIRANYAKASIPU SEEKED A BOON THAT, HE SHOULD NOT GET KILLED BY DEVAS, ASURAS, MEN AND RISHIS.

HE SHOULD NOT ALSO BE KILLED WITH ANY WEAPONS ,IN DAY OR NIGHT, INSIDE OR OUTSIDE AND ETC..

BRAHMA GRANTED ALL THESE BOONS TO HIRANYAKASIPU.

WITH THESE IMMENSE POWERS, HIRANYAKASIPU STARTED HARASSING PEOPLES IN EARTH, HEAVEN AND PATHALA WORLD. HE CONQUERED ALL THE THREE WORLDS.

DEVAS, RISHIS AND TAPASVEES WHO COULD NOT BEAR THIS HARASSMENT OF ASURA KING, MADE TAPAS TOWARDS VISHNU WHO IS PRAISED BY ALL VEDAS. LORD VISHNU WHO IS FULL OF COMPASSIONATE, WAS PLEASED WITH THIER PRAYERS, AND PROMISED TO HELP THE DEVAS.

LORD VISHNU CREATED PRAHLATHA AS THE SON OF HIRANYAKASIPU. THE ASURA KING WAS VERY HAPPY AND TOOK GREAT CARE OF HIS SON. WHEN PRAHLADA ATTAINED THE RIGHT AGE, HIRANYAKASIPU CALLED THE ASURAS GURU AND INSTRUCTED HIM TO TEACH THE HIRANYA MANTHRA HIRANYA AUM . BUT THE SATVIKA CHILD PRAHLATHA REFUSED TO SAY SO AND CHANTED ONLY NARAYANA MANTHRA HARIH AUM .

HIRANYAKASIPU COULD GREAT ANGER ORDERED AND THROW IN TO THE STONE SAILED HIM TO

NOT TOLERATE HIS SONS ACT AND WITH HIS SERVANT TO TIE THE BOY WITH A STONE SEA. WITH THE GRACE OF LORD VISHNU, THE THE SHORE LIKE A BOAT.

THEN HIRANYA ORDERED TO THROW PRAHLADA FROM MOUNTAIN TOP AND AGAIN WITH VISHNUS BLESSINGS (ANUGRAHA), HE LANDED SAFELY WITHOUT ANY WOUND.THEN HIRANYAKASIPU ORDERED TO PUT

HIM ON FIRE, BUT THE FIRE WITHOUT HURTING HIM GAVE A COOL FEELING OF SANDAL. HIRANYA THEN GAVE POISON TO PRAHLADHA AND THE POISON BECAME A NECTOR (AMRUTHA) FOR PRAHLADHA. ALL THESE DEEDS WERE DUE TO LORD VISHNUS KRUPA.

HIRANYAKASIPU WAS BAFFELED AND ASKED PRAHLADHA ABOUT THE MAGICIAN WHO IS HELPING HIM EVERYTIME. PRAHLADHA EXPLAINED TO HIS FATHER THE ONE WHO IS RESIDING IN ALL ENTITY AND WHO SUSTAINS EVERYONE IS MY LORD AND HE IS SRIMAN NARAYANA .

HIRANYA THEN POINTED OVER THE PILLAR NEAR BY AND ENQUIRED IF NARAYANAN IS INSIDE THIS PILAR. PRAHLADHA SPONTANEOUSLY REPLIED THAT VISHNU IS EVERYWHERE INCLUDING THIS PILLAR. IMMEDIATELY HIRANYAKASIPU HIT THE PILLAR FURIOUSLY WITH HIS MACE.

LORD VISHNU TOOK THE FORM OF NRUSIMHA (MAN & LION), WEARING BRAHMAS SKIN AND HIS DRESS, TWELVE SUNS[DWATHASA ATHITHYAS] AS GARLAND, EIGHT DIRECTIONS (ASHTADHIKBALAS) AS WAIST ROPE, AND SIVAS HEAD AS ANKLET. WITH HORRIFING LOOK, HE CAME OUT FROM THE PILLAR, FRIGHTENING EVERY ONE AROUND THE WORLD.

HE TORE THE BLACKISH CHEST OF HIRANYAKASIPU WITH HIS FINGER NAILS. LORD VISHNU WAS VERY ANGRY WITH HIRANYAKASIPU, BECAUSE HE COULD NOT BEAR THE INJUSTICE DONE TO HIS BHAKTHA (PRAHLADHA).

DEVAS WHO WERE PRESENT AT THAT JUNCTURE, DISCUSSED AMONG THEMSELVES

ON HOW TO COOL THE ANGER OF VISHNU. THEY WENT TO KAILASA AND SOUGHT THE HELP OF THREENETHRADHARI SHIVA.THE POOR SHIVA, NOT REALISING THAT LORD NRUSIMHA AS PARABRAHMAM,TOOK THE FORM OF SARABHA AND FOUGHT WITH NRUSIMHA. NRUSIMHA, WHO TORE THE CHEST OF HIRANYAKASIPU, FOUGHT WITH SARABHA, NULLIFIED HIS POWER AND ASHAMED SARABHA.

DEVAS THEN WENT TO BRAHMA AND SOUGHT HIS HELP. BRAHMA IN TURN, TOGETHER WITH DEVAS OFFERED HIS PRAYERS TO MAHALAKSHMI, WHO APPEARED IMMEDIATELY TO SHOWER HER MERCY TO ALL. LATER, BY ADVISING PRAHLADHA TO PRAY TO LORD NRUSIMHA, SHE CALMED HIS ANGER. THE DEVAS TOO PRAISED LORD VISHNU CHANTING HIS HARI NAMA AND EXCLAIMED VISHNU ALONE IS PARABRAHMAM.

AT THAT JUNCTURE, PARVATHY CAME TO LORD VISHNU AND OFFERED PRAYER TO HIM TO GET BACK HER HUSBAND. LOED VISHNU, OBLIGED TO PARVATHYS REQUEST AND GOT SANKARA BACK.

THIS IS STATED IN THAITHREEYA UPANISHATH-THRUTHEEYA PRASHNA, PADMA PURANA, GARUDA PURANA, UPANARASIMHA, UNCOMPARABLE VAMANA PURANA, AGNI PURANA. HENCE THIS SHOULD BE VIEWED UNBIASELY.

THIS IS STATED IN VEDAS & SEVEN PURANAS WHICH CLEARLY EXPLAINS THAT THE NITHYANANDHA ROOPA LORD VISHNU, ALONE IS BRAHMAM AND NOT THE BLACK NECKED SHIVA. SWAMI KOORATHAZHWAN QUOTED ALL THE ABOVE PRAMANA AND DISCORDED THE CLAIM MADE BY SAIVA PANDITS.
