Jobs: Research Assistant

Begin a research assistant at Connex is a very demanding job. There are many types of research areas that many different media companies use for instance. When I worked on research for the Choccheese product I was involved in Marketing research Which involved me researching competitor companies and products to find out if there were any similar products on the market and if there were any gaps in the market. I also did audience research during this period were we looked into which target audience we were aiming our new product at. This involved me using both qualitative research which was a small amount of in detail research about our target audience as well as quantitative research which is a vast amount of numerical data mainly charts.

After finishing this project I began doing research for the quiz television programme Flashpoint. When I joined I began doing content research were I would research the questions that the host would use and the answers. Most of this was secondary research that I would find online it was also important that I did not repeat the same question. I also did content research on a brief summary of the contestants that would appear on the show this was primary research which I carried out myself. Sometimes I would be asked to research our viewer rates. I would find this out by visiting the British Audience Research Board website who are the qualified official source for this information. My Last job was to do the research for the DVD extras on the DVD of Tyrannosaur. This Job was one of the most in detail one so far I used Content research again to get a idea of the stories behind the scenes and the box office sales .
