Our course in Psychological First Aid is designed to provide the skills and knowledge to enable participants to respond in the first instance to those affected by a disaster in their community. The primary objectives are to promote safety; promote calmness; promote connectedness to others; promote self and community efficacy and promote hope. The training is targeted to frontline Department of Communities (DoC) and DoC funded Non Government Organisation staff that would provide an immediate response in the aftermath of a disaster/traumatic event. Course Delivery This course comprises of 2 units - LLPFA001A - Orientation to Community Recovery and LLPFA002A Apply Psychological First Aid, both of which require pre-course reading and pre-course work including the completion of a short assessment. You then attend a one-day workshop to achieve your Statement of Attainment.
There is NO COST associated with this training as it is being supported by both Lifeline and Department of Communities (DoC) Psychological First Aid Course is on .
