so we need to configure the descriptive fl exfields. setup -----> financials -----> flexfields -----> descriptive -----> segments giv the name of the application and the title. title is generally the name of th e form uncheck the freeze checkfield definition select globa; data elements and click on segments give the name of the fields which u would lik to capture additionally. save the form check the freeze checkfield definition and click on compile. we can create a value set so that we can select the options frm list of values. setup -----> financials -----> flexfields -----> descriptive -----> segments uncheck the freeze checkfield definition select globa; data elements and click on segments. click on value set. give a name to ur value set. validation type shld be independent. format size is char and enter a maximum value.save it. check the freeze checkfield definition and click on compile. setup -----> financials -----> flexfields -----> descriptive ----->values check the value set. enter ur value set name and click on find. enter different list of values. setup -----> financials -----> flexfields -----> descriptive -----> segments uncheck the freeze checkfield definition select globa; data elements and click on segments.click on open we can provide a default type. if we don't want thw field to be mandatory check the required. u can also give wat values u can capture for a specific context value setup -----> financials -----> flexfields -----> descriptive -----> segments giv the name of the context value and click on segments. giv the name of the field which u want to capture. check the freeze checkfield definition and click on compile.
