The Literate Environment Item 4. Writing materials are available and easy for children to use. Teachers will provide paper and writing materials to use as they choose. These materials will include pens, pencils, markers, crayons, etc. Teachers will also provide a variety of paper for children to use for writing experiences. Writing materials will also be available in other learning centers for emergent print experiences. Teachers will also rotate materials to provide a variety of different emergent print and writing experiences. Teachers can utilize donations from parents to provide adequate materials in the writing area. The administrative staff will ensure that each classroom has a plethora of writing materials available for student use.
