This article is about the event when a warlord kidnapped Chiang to convince him to fight together with the Communists against Japan. Mrs. Yang was just a baby during the Second Sino-Japanese War. When the Japanese went to her house, her mother hid her under the bed and hid somewhere else. In our interview with her, she told us how the Japanese would make a whole town kneel outside and kill them one by one with swords and guns or drown them. The Japanese would barge into peoples home and kill anyone they see. If the Japanese wanted information from you, and you dont talk, they kill you. This interview helped us understand why the Chinese people do not like the Japanese.
