201206 Dated 17 February 2012 TO: Loyola Schools Student Body FROM: Ateneo Commission on Elections RE: 2012 Sanggunian General Elections Absentee Voting and Release of Results According to Article VII of Amended Electoral Code 2011, All voters must be members of the Ateneo student body as defined in the 2005 Sanggunian Constitution. Considering the possibility that some members of the student body would not be able to physically exercise their right to vote due to the Junior Term Abroad (JTA) program, the Board of Commissioners has decided to facilitate absentee elections for the aforementioned, which shall run until February 19, Sunday at 12 noon (AISIS time). Hence, release of election results shall be moved from February 18, Saturday at 4:30 am (12 hours after closing of physical poll stations) to February 20, Monday at 12:00 am (12 hours after end of absentee elections) at the latest. While polling for the JTA students is taking place, everyone is reminded that this period is still part of the same election period to which the physical elections from February 14 to 17 belong. Campaign ban shall continue to be implemented.
