    Container is a type of operating system-level virtualization that allows for isolation between applications running on the same machine. Containers use resource controls and separation provided by zones to create isolated virtual servers within a single operating system instance. There are two types of zones - sparse root zones that share most filesystem content from the global zone and require little disk space, and whole root zones that have their own copy of operating system files and may require more disk space depending on installed software.

    Container is a o/s level virtualization for x86/Sparc systems.

    Container is a combination of system resouce controls and separation provided by zone zone act as completely isolated virtual servers within a single o/s instance. we can add max 8191 non-globle zones Sparse root zone/ Small zone : most f/s content is shared form the gloabl zone, its take as little as 50MB disk space. whole root zone/ Big root zone: it has own copy of o/s files, its may have MB/GB depending on installed s/w.
