    The Butterfly King is a new permanent float that is going to be seen at the annual Rex Parade. For a long time , the butterfly has been a symbol of the beauty of Mardi Gras. In 1882, butterfly wings were added to the King of Carnival on the invitation for the Rex Ball. This year, The Butterfly King will be displayed in the parade alongside 26 other floats.
