Law :Definition
Law and Rule carry Different Meanings. Rules refers to the Collective moral judgements made by members of the society to guide individual behaviour or action. Law refers to set of rules established to govern the individual behaviour within society.

Relationship between Law and Moral Standards


Moral Standards deal with desired right and wrong human behaviour. They focus on what ought to be done and what ought not to be done by an individual or group in a given situation. Law aim at producing a desired human behavior and focus on behavior that is required by the society.

Laws and Moral Standard overlap to a certain extent .Eg : Bank Robbery The Law does not always represent collective moral judgments.Eg :Charity,Traffic rules The requirement of Law tend to be negative while moral Standards tend to be positive.Eg :Helping Accident victims
