Screenplay, script preparation (story / play) writing articles based on news headlines, speech
preparation. Application for a job with Resume. Writing character sketches based on the textual readings etc. The expected scores are of 6-8 range.
IV. Others: Include questions testing the learners ability to interpret a chart,pie- diagram ,graph
etc. and to reproduce the data in suitable language form. Editing the errors (Morphological and
syntactic) in a given passage - is also past of this kind. Here the learners real strength of language is measured. Ability to transfer ideas from one mode to another, ability to interpret, aptness of language, organizational skills are the key tested areas. The score weightage to this section may be from
6-8.
Time Factor & score getting: Total TE score is 8
Total writing Time is 2 1/2 hours. 15 minutes cool off time is given to read the questions thoroughly before starting to write. Every question has three levels of score -Entry level, optimum
level and higher level. For a 6 score answer -the entry level score is 2 the optimum level score is
4 and the higher level score is 6 itself. So students should attempt all questions within the fixed
time for the test. Entry level score is for the students who can give only answers hints leading to
sentences. Optimum level score is can be got by the students who can supplement something
more than the entry level attempts -with necessary points as answers. Higher level score is for
the perfect answer makers, who comfortably juggle with their language. The three level scores
are as per the mental processes involved in the answers concerned.

You are not allowed to write your answers nor to discuss anything with others during the 'cool
off time'.

Use the 'cool off time' to get familiar with questions and to plan your answers.
