Why we should support WikiLeaks As a nation surfing through the financial crisis but facing serious security issues,

Norway for one should speak up in support of WikiLeaks and its founder Julian Assange. Lets have a look at very peculiar document from the American embassy dated October 28th 2009 regarding the state of affairs in our little land of Oil and well fare. And I quote: Norway does not have the physical or technical resources to provide surveillance even for the needs already identified by the Protective Security Service, or PST. xxxx(A) indicated that PSTs limited technical and physical surveillance resources were fully taxed responding to a high priority Al-Qaida related investigation xxxx(A) said that as a consequence of this investigation, PST has had to divert all of its surveillance resources to this case, drawing them away from other high priorities, such as Krekar and counterintelligence threats, particularly Russia. xxxx(A) said that this 24/7 mobilization had put tremendous pressure on these surveillance resources, which he claimed were nearing exhaustion. xxxx(B) would have been unable to mention this in a public response (ok, so if Norwegians knew in what a poor state the security of the nation was in, they would be upset? We must keep it a secret then? huh?) How accurate is this description? Should we have been aware of this before? Could access to this information have prevented the summer of 2011 to be so gloomy, so disastrous? I recon, the consequences of knowing could never have hurt more than the factual consequences of not knowing. Therefore, we should support WikiLeaks, and welcome its quest for transparency in governmental and corporate processes. Rest my case.
