of Meetings: 5 days Topic: Cupid and Psyche STAGE 1- Desired Results Established Goals At the end of the unit the learners will be able to: G.1 Read orally the short story with correct stress and intonation G.2 Note significant details that relate to the central theme G.3 Sequence events/ideas Essential Understandings Students will understand that 1. in life, trust is important in every relationship that we have to establish with one another 2. in every action we do there is an equivalent reaction in our life and in our relationship with others Transfer The student in the long term and on his/her own will be able to 1. give and value trust 2. distinguish the effects of their action either good or bad

Essential Questions 1. What can you say in the saying, Life is the sum of all our choices? 2. Do you think love can live where there is no trust, Why? 3. How far can you go to gain the trust of your love one? Knowledge Students will know 1. the elements of a short story 2. the nature and feature of mythology 3. how to compare and contrasts the characters in the story 4. the different parts of a plot e.g. Exposition statement, rising action, conflict, climax, falling action, resolution and conclusion Students will be able to 1. summarize the story using story map 2. present a report in the nature and feature of mythology 3. using Venn diagram, compare and contrasts the characters in the story 4. make a power point presentation in presenting the different parts of a plot using the story Skills
