2 militiamen wounded in Paquibato

CAMP PANACAN, Davao City- Two militiamen were wounded in a simultaneous encounters at two different locations in Brgy. Malabog, Paquibato District, Davao City five minutes after midnight on Jan. 12, 2012. "This lawless group operating in Paquibato is a blight in the peace and order and progress of Davao City," said Lt. Col. Lyndon Paniza, Spokesperson of 10th Infantry Division. Detachments of puroks Golden Shower and Cabonbon, all of Brgy.Malabog, were harassed by undetermined number of New People's Army. Paniza added, "They are on the brink of desperation knowing that they are becoming irrelevant hence the attacks to project strength." CAA Loreto Lireta suffered splinter wound at left portion of his chest and hand, while CAA Anthony Camansi suffered a wound on his right hand. "The Army shall provide the best possible medical attention to the brave militiamen who are fighting to keep Paquibato from the clutch of terrorism from the lawless group of NPA," Paniza said. The encounter is the first in Paquibato this year.
