Russian is called a Eurasian country because its on Asia and Europe. Russia has many urban cities, modern complexes Many places are suburbs, small communities that surround a city. Many Russians now can by consumer goods, items sold directly to public. The rural areas, countryside have homes built of wood

Section 1 Part 2 The Russian Land


Northern Russia has a treeless region with few inches of land called tundra. South of tundra is taiga, evergreen trees that stretch across the country. Central Asia has many steppes, dry treeless grassland plains Russia was once communist, where individuals had to work under government Once, they had manufactured heavy industry, machinery mining equipment, and steel. Recently the common industry was light industry, making of household products and consumer goods.

Section 2 The People of Russia


Russians are part of a group of people called Slavs. Slavs are the majority culture in Russia, major population of ethnic groups. Jews are part of the minority culture in Russia, smaller cultural population of ethnic groups.

Section 3 Russias Southern Neighbors


Ethnic conflicts are common in Georgia, disagreements between two or more groups Kazakh people used to be nomads, people moving around with no permanent homes Uzbekistan has many oasis, green area in a desert fed by an underground spring. Kyrgyzstan's weather depends on elevation, land height below and above sea level.
