Drug name: GLYCERYL TRINITRATE General details Glyceryl trinitrate reduces the pain associated with hypoxic angina

attacks. It is not a treatment for the cause of the iscaemia but relieves symptoms. It works by dilating coronary arteries, increasing oxygen supply to the cardiac muscle and by dilating veins, thus reducing venous return and reducing the preload work on the heart.

Special precautions Sudden withdrawal of the drug may induce angina attack. You must advise your doctor if you have osteoporosis, have polycystic ovarian disease and are allergic to gonadorelin analogues + have any other heart conditions, a lung condition, have long term liver or kidney problems, have a blood disorder, have glaucoma and if have thyroid disease.
