To the members of the Admissions Committee:
Early this aftemoon I sent a short note to Sue Bryant asking for statistical information about
our applicant pool and our iacoming class. I thought I had ¢e to the whole committee, but it
appears that it did not happen, so here is the text of that not
Sue:
Tand other members of the committee have been reading files now and I do not know exactly
how this incoming class is shaping. I have not received any statistical information and the
committee have not met at all this semester, So, I would like to know the profile of the
applicant poo! and the profiles of the aeceptces and the acceptces who have given seat
deposits. T would like to know how many female and male acceptees and minority acceptees
and the breakdown of minority acceptees. This kind of information will help the readers
reading files
It will also be nice that committee can meet to discuss whether the reading process that was
implemented is working and also whether we, the committee, are viewing or defining "public
interest" in similar ways and there may be other questions.
Thanks!
Julie
