ear flap sc 11, turn sc 11, turn skip 1 stitch on each end, sc 9, turn sc 9, turn skip 1 stich on each end, sc 7, turn sc 7, turn skip 1 stich on each end, sc 5, turn slip stich around entire hat. there should be 18 stiches between each ear flap (from the front). braids make 5 strings arms length of each color (15 strings total) string through the last sc's (not slip stitches) on ear flap you will have 10 strings per color now. braid together until desired length, th en knot. do the same for other side.
