NONFICTION Project: Video Report

Ms. Calimbahin – English 10

Directions: It is now time to put your knowledge of the elements and types of nonfiction
to good use.  To successful complete this project, you must complete the following:

1. Find a group (of no more than 3-5 people) to work with. Assign the following roles:
a. Leader = person in charge of the team; manages and keeps the group on-task
b. Reporter(s) = person(s) featured in the video; interviews subjects on camera
c. Videographer = person in charge of recording interviews on camera
d. Recorder = person in charge of taking notes and organizing interview documents
e. Editors = everyone  will be in charge of editing the report before submission
2. Identify and research on the topic of report
a. Have one (1) main topic/question/objective
b. Prepare at least 5 interview questions for the video report
* type or write final copy neatly and legibly
c. Research: find at least 3-5 FACTS related to your topic
* find information online and/or in the school library (cite sources)
3. Find interview subjects and interview them.  This is the best part of the project. Relax
on camera, and have fun with the project.
a. Before interviewing your subjects, have them sign the report voucher
b. Dress appropriately, and be polite during the interview
c. Lastly, thank your subjects at the end of every interview
4. Watch your video
a. Meet with your group and watch the video you made
b. Edit and make necessary changes
5. Submit your video and show it off to the rest of the class 

Grading Criteria (250 points)

*Individual contribution 25 pts *research information (added facts) 50 pts
Final Product (Video)
Cooperative Learning 75(Excellent); 60(Above Average); 75 pts
*Peer evaluation 25 pts 45(Average); 0-30(Needs Improvement)

Total = 250 points
