PRONOUN- are words that stand for nouns or for words

that take the place of nouns.

SINGULAR PLURAL
First person I, me, mine, my We, us, our, ours

Third person He, him, his, she, They, them, their,

REFLEXIVE AND INTENSIVE PRONOUNS- pronouns


end in self or selves

DEMONSTRATIVE PRONOUN- directs attention to a


specific person, place, or thing (this, that, these,

PREPOSITION- a word that relates the noun or pronoun.


Ex: about, as of, at, but, for, from, in, on, into, of, off,
beside, among, over

3. The tree fell on account of the wind

CONJUNCTIONS- word used to connect other words or


groups of words.
Ex: and, for, or, yet, but, nor, so
1. The waves thundered and pounded the shore.
2. The dog’s hair is soft, silky, and clean
3. The carpenter works quickly but efficiently.
4. Turn to the left or to the right

INTERJECTIONS- word that expresses feeling or


emotion.
Ex: ah, goodness, hey, hurray, oh, ouch, whew, wow

2. Hey, wait a minute.
